Four years ago, I bought my car to spare me from the hassle of getting stuck in a traffic commuting. But don’t get me wrong because I love commuting so much. Except for circumstances where I have to go to multiple locations with so many bags to carry. Well, being a blogger in this famous city where traffic destroys your game plan for a day is indeed a challenge so I opted to have my own ride. This decision was before ride-sharing started in the Philippines.
Having UBER now, the most popular alternative in public transportation is quite different from years of commuting from one place to another. And now that UBER is also with us in resolving traffic from major cities in Asia, I would say that there is a way to outsmart the traffic. Oh by the way, you can check my recent blog about unlocking traffic in Manila HERE.

But other than booking for our own ride to get to work or anywhere else, did you know that you can now seamlessly pick your friends up and drop them off with Uber’s new Multiple Stops feature? YES you can! Just this week, we were able to try this feature of with my fellow blogger friends Ruth Dela Cruz and Rodel Flordeliz.
That day we had lunch at Manila house in BGC and initially, we planned to go to Kodanda Archery Range in Makati Cinema Square. But since we need to get our passes in Mind Museum, it is very expensive and time consuming to book two UBER rides to two consecutive destinations. In the past, if you would like to drop someone off or pick someone up along the way, you would have to ride the Uber first, and talk to the driver about the plan. Along the way, riders may then have to adjust the destinations in the app. This makes it difficult for both the rider, and Uber’s partner driver. Good thing the multi-destination feature in UBER is already in effect so we didn’t waste anytime but book Mind Museum and Kodanda in one go.
After few minutes, our super nice UBER driver arrived. He then brought us first at Mind Museum then later on to Makati Cinema Square where Kodanda is located.
It was my first time to try Archery compare to Rodel and Ruth but I can imagine if we book two uber rides, we probably ran out of time to enjoy our Archery bonding in Kodanda. We somehow outsmarted that afternoon’s traffic by booking two destinations in one go.
Riding UBER I get to tweet and read news on my social media and even read magazines on our way to Mind Museum. One thing I like compared to driving a car to a destination.
Actually this new feature let us seamlessly add up to three total stops to the journey. That way, the full route and rate are clear to both the rider and the driver. Don’t just below image as I kept on missing the center. I will definitely go back.
How it works:
To use the feature, tap “where to?” and then “+”. Add the addresses of the stops, and then request for the ride. Changes in the route can be done in the app, in real time. The driver will be automatically given directions to each of the stops so riders can sit back and relax the whole way.
The multi-destination feature is one of the many product innovations that Uber has added to their app to enhance user experience. Other features include scheduling rides ahead of time, saving frequented places, sharing ETAs, and requesting a ride for a friend. Proving that technology is ever improving, you can be sure to enjoy the holidays your way with Uber’s new and existing features.
Oh by the way, I can vouch for the UBER drivers now because you can see how satisfied riders from previous rides and that is a sign of relief that you aare in good hands. Here’s one I shared on social media.
