I have known Chinkee Tan for years. Ive been listening to his success stories from quite sometime and I can say that he is the person to look for, to listen to in terms of positive mind setting. And last week, Procter & Gamble Distributing Philippines, Inc. and Puregold brought back an event that aims to empower and elevate Pinoy entrepreneurship—the VIPuring Convention II with CHINKEE TAN as the front-runner of the afternoon filled with inspiring words.
Together with my fellow bloggers, that exclusive event for Puregold “Tindahan ni Aling Puring” GOLD members was also P&G and Puregold’s way of thanking retailers and entrepreneurs for their loyalty and support. The event’s highlight centered on an inspiring talk about how to level up one’s business that provided inside information on growing one’s business.
Chinkee Tan gave us time to discuss important lessons in getting rich, in upgrading your mindset. Another guest of the event Christian Bautista sat with us and listen to Chinkee Tan.
And here are some major encouragement I had last week:
3 Ways to Level Up in Business
Upgrade your frame of mind.
“Ang pagyaman ng tao ay di nagsisimula sa laki ng kanilang bulsa or kung magkano ang kinikita or even kung ano ang negosyo niya. Ang pagyaman ng tao naguumpisa kung paano siya mag iisip….Remember, na ang pera hindi kaya gumawa ng pera.”
“To upgrade your life you have to upgrade you mindset— read a lot of books, attend seminars, and ask experts for advice—invest in knowledge.
Upgrade your Products.
I believe on this too. This means to go premium and offer premium products which often yield better profit margins. The market is willing to pay for products at a much higher price as long as it’s better. A more premium product can command a higher price, which means a higher profit margin. And we’re not only talking about products that are manufactured. A product could also mean you, the person. If you acquire more skills and knowledge, you upgrade yourself and can therefore command a higher salary if you’re employed, or a higher fee if you’re a professional or consultant
Upgrade your Capital.
“It would be impossible to grow your business without adding more capital,” “Impossible lumaki ang kita mo pero ang mindset mo ay maliit.”
He left us with this EQUATION of Mindset + action = result
Small mindset + Small action = Small Result
Big mindset + Big action = Big Result
Positive mindset + Positive action = Positive Result and
Negative mindset + Negative action = Negative Result
“So you cannot live a winning life with a defeated mindset… let’s admit we know people who are always angry, whose favorite pastime is complaining—If you want to live a positive life you need to get away from negative people.”
Forget the Poverty mindset… when people ask how are you your response should be: Eto payaman ng payaman…ramdam na ramdam ko na!”
A major component of the convention was the first-class, VIP broadway-themed entertainment that delighted the audience. Joy with Olay’s The Kitchen Musical medley featured superb performances from thespians Christian Bautista and Karylle. The Downy Mystique presentation dazzled the audience with Myxx Dancers’ masquerade production number. Olay Total Effect’s The Little Mermaid medley featured the impressive performance of Ciara Sotto, while the Head & Shoulders PDA Comedy segment, headlined by the Aegis band, scored big and hearty laughs from the audience.
Will look forward to next year’s Puregold event and hopefully they will have Chinkee Tan again on the gala!
