Alex Eala Homecoming Event Sells Over 20,000 Tickets

More than 20,000 tickets have been sold for Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate, marking a major milestone for the Filipino tennis star’s highly anticipated homecoming and building momentum toward what could become the largest one-day tennis event in Philippine history.

Set for December 8 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, the landmark sporting event will see Eala face Indonesia’s Janice Tjen in a headline match that brings together two of Asia’s most exciting young tennis players. The strong ticket sales reflect the growing excitement among Filipino fans eager to welcome Eala home and witness her compete on a historic stage.

“It’s amazing to know that so many fans have already bought tickets to come and watch us play. Thank you to everyone back home for the incredible support. I can’t wait to walk out at the Philippine Arena, hear the roar of the crowd and take on Janice on December 8,” Eala said.

With more than 20,000 tickets already sold, demand has surpassed the capacity of any traditional tennis arena in the Philippines, opening the door for thousands more Filipinos to experience world-class tennis in one of the country’s largest venues.

Irene Francisco, managing director of Tatler Philippines, said the response demonstrates the growing appetite for tennis in the country and the significance of bringing Eala back to compete in front of a home crowd.

“We are delighted with the response from fans and want to thank them for their support. The speed and strength of ticket sales show just how much appetite there is to see Alex play at home,” Francisco said.

She added that the event aims to go beyond a single sporting contest by giving Filipino families, aspiring athletes and a new generation of fans the opportunity to experience elite tennis up close and draw inspiration from one of the country’s leading young sporting talents.

Michel Lamunière, chairman and CEO of Tatler Group, also expressed optimism about the event’s potential to attract a historic crowd, revealing that the organizers are still aiming to welcome 50,000 spectators to the Philippine Arena.

“We always believed there was an appetite to see Alex play at home, but seeing more than 20,000 people already secure their place tells us that this event means something to Filipino tennis fans,” Lamunière said.

He emphasized that while reaching 50,000 spectators would be an extraordinary achievement for Philippine tennis, the larger goal is to bring as many Filipinos as possible together to celebrate the sport and inspire young players to pursue their ambitions.

A Full Day Celebrating the Future of Philippine Tennis

Beyond the headline match, Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate is designed as a full day of tennis, entertainment and celebration, highlighting both the country’s emerging talent and the growing popularity of the sport.

The program will open with Hot Stars, featuring national junior players from the Philippine Tennis Association alongside rising professionals. The segment will give young Filipino athletes the opportunity to compete on the same arena court and perform before the audience that will later gather to watch Eala and Tjen.

A Celebrity Match will follow, adding an entertainment component to the program ahead of the main event.

The highly anticipated Eala versus Tjen encounter will be played over three sets, with all three sets guaranteed. Rather than relying solely on the number of sets won, the winner will be determined by the cumulative number of games won across the match. Organizers will provide accredited media and ticket holders with further details on event-specific rules, including the Overtime and Super Shootout procedures, before the event.

Tickets Still Available for Alex Eala’s Homecoming

With more than 20,000 tickets sold well ahead of December 8, Eala’s homecoming is shaping up to be a major moment for Philippine sports.
