It’s been awhile since I get to check the latest notebooks and laptops in town. I know there were bunch of new releases given the new normal and demand for online activities. But in terms of innovation, there’s always something about ASUS release and launch that surprises me. That is improving and maximizing potential of their currently available releases!
If you guys remember, I featured a flipbook from ASUS before when they launched ASUS ZenBook Flip UX562. At that time I was really impressed with its feature and gave ASUS a thumbs-up for such an amazing release. When I got hold of this VivoBook Flip 14, I like its lightweight feels.
It’s like you’re bringing an extra large tablet but complements for a mobile lifestyle. As a content creator, shifting from creating a content to my favorite leisure is something that I always envision and with the new VivoBook Flip 14, it give me comfort because of its feature –an ultraportable design that doesn’t weigh you down. Imagine having to carry a model that is less than 19 mm and each weighs only 1.5 kg.
Before I share with you my experience to how it is being flipped 360 degrees, I like to commend this unit for having this NanoEdge display. It definitely pushes the boundaries of what’s possible — with even narrower top and side display bezels.
Watching series after a long day’s work by just simply flipping it!~
It gives me much better experience watching my Netflix or HBO Go because its NanoEdge Display gives up to an 82% screen-to-body ratio for unrivaled immersion in a compact package.
And what better way to fully experience its NanoEdge display is ofcourse to complement it with an ASUS Pen, equipped with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. This is not the first time I use pen on touchscreens but I like the way it respond to my level of writings.
This is perfect for writers, bloggers, designers, graphic artists and the likes because it is definitely a perfect choice for casual creativity, note-taking and intuitive editing in any supported app.
As mentioned during their launch, ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 features the exclusive 360° ErgoLift hinge design. Initially I was afraid to flip it haha because I might break it LOL but to my surprise, the experience is very surprising.
As you can see, flipping allows the display to be flipped to any position, according to usage requirements. Horizontally, I get to use the unit the way how I maximize my tablet. It’s like totally shifting moods from serious working to laid back binge watching.
Glad to know that the durability of the hinge design was tested with over 20,000 open/close cycles. It means that it’s functionality responds to what the user wants. The ErgoLift design tilts the keyboard automatically when the laptop is opened.
I think flipbook also has a benefit because this design does not only allows the user to type more comfortably, but also increases the ventilation space under the chassis for improved heat dissipation.
You might ask, how is the audio experience given that we will use this flip book in different ways. Worry not because the audio system of the new VivoBook Flip series has been carefully tuned by experts from the ASUS Golden Ear team. And of course this one is powered and and certified by audio specialists Harman Kardon to ensure the very best sound for any kind of audio content.
I tried testing the audio when using it as a laptop and a tablet. The result is a louder volume! It has richer bass and enhanced surround effects versus similar-sized competitor laptops.
So far I am enjoying this Flipbook and I recommend this for all creative geniuses out there to take and bring your professional talents to the next level. It will surprise you with a lot of its functionalities. In terms of other aspect of this Flip book, I wrote a separate article about how you can multi-task, be as productive as you can be including how you can maximize entertainment using Asus VivoBook Flip 14 HERE.
