It was a sporty gathering of entertainment Press and Bloggers yesterday May 8, as Philippine Rugby Team and FILA, a global mega-brand for sportswear gears for one great partnership. Dubbed as FILA’PINAS, FILA Philippines will accompany the Volcanoes to the prestigious competition, The 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens as their official sponsor.
Beautiful CEO of FILA Philippines, Mrs. Cris Albert excitedly announced this wonderful partnership before the press.
During the event I was able to asked Captain Michael Letts, about the 2013 Rugby World Cup. It is a tournament of men in 2013 made up of 24 teams and the women’s tournament comprises of 16 teams. Rugby World Cup Sevens 2013 will be held in Moscow, Russia between 28-30 June. It will be the sixth RWC Sevens and the second comprising a men’s and women’s tournament, following the event in Dubai in 2009.
The men will be competing for the Melrose Cup, and the women for the Women’s Rugby World Cup trophy. The Philippine National Rugby Union Team, nicknamed the “Volcanoes,” is the countryʼs official representation to the international rugby union. With countless golds to their name, besting prominent countries in international tournaments, the Volcanoes have now become headliners in Philippine sports.
Philippines is the fastest Asian rising nation in this field and looking forward to their games before the World Cup Seven. Here are their schedule next week.
