When I first heard of the title UNOFFICIALLY YOURS, I was amazed and impressed of the concept. Because I know for sure it will be another phenomenal phrases. Come social media and emerging online engagement, such a thing from Star cinema has always been the talk of the town.
Thats the latest theme of Star Cinema movie offering, “Unofficially Yours”!
John Lloyd plays the role of Macky Galvez, a depressed young man who’s been contemplating on why he had several failed relationships. Angel, on the other hand, plays the role of Ces, a modern-day woman who is afraid of commitments. When their worlds collide, a funny yet sexy love story develops
Under the direction of the box-office director, Cathy Garcia-Molina, the story of “Unofficially Yours” starts out with a one night stand of the two lead characters! “Ito na ang pinaka-matapang kong pelikula as far as theme is concerned!” says Direk Cathy, “Basically it’s a story about a guy who believes so much in love then falls in love with someone who doesn’t want to fall in love. Nagkataon kasi na the girl practices casual relationship, non-committal, no ties, ayaw n’ya ng boyfriend-girlfriend, basta for fun lang! Then the character of the guy, gusto s’yang paniwalain ulit sa love, na better pa din pag pormal na relasyon than a casual relationship!” she explains.
DURING THE PRESSCON, Angel Locsin says we actually dont need labels. For as long as we are happy with any arrangements and to witch situation thing will work, thats the kind of relationship we should embrace.
Aside from the brave theme, what makes “Unofficially Yours” extremely exciting is that it stars two of the country’s most loved and admired actors, John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin! “Madaming firsts sa pelikulang ‘to!” says John Lloyd, “First time namin ni Angel sa big screen, first time namin pareho sa ganitong klaseng roles, first time ng Star Cinema na sumabak sa ganitong tema na masasabing taboo pero nangyayari naman talaga sa paligid natin pero hindi lang komportable ang marami na pag-usapan. It’s a bold step to tackle this theme, pero s’yempre with the touch of Star Cinema, talagang puso, ‘yung pinaka-puso ng mga characters ang mapapanood dito. This is really something new! Something very different!” he tells. As the movie’s theme dictates, the two will be seen in a “hot” love scene, “But that’s not the movie’s point!” John Lloyd exclaims and furthers, “it will be portrayed pero ang pinaka-importante sa kuwento eh ‘yung magiging learning ng mga characters namin – ‘yung tama ba o hindi na i-define ang isang relationship!” he closes.
ANGEL LOCSIN on the other hand has this to say, “Gusto naming ipakita sa mga tao kung ano ba ang casual relationship.
Extremely exciting indeed! “Unofficially Yours” may just make us all think and rethink our relationships! It’s highs and lows, joys and pain, fun and no fun, casual or formal.
z“It’s still a love story! Iba man ang paraan ng pagkukuwento namin dito, at the end of the day, it still talks about love, it talks about how beautiful love is! How better it is to love than not having love at all!” Direk Cathy beams as she closes.
Now, do we really need to define relationship at all?
