The wait is almost over for those looking to upgrade their digital companion, myself included. On April 14, HONOR is officially pulling the curtain back on the HONOR Pad X8b, and if its predecessors are any indication, we are in for a treat.
Having spent a good amount of time reviewing HONOR’s recent smartphone lineup, I’ve grown accustomed to their knack for balancing sleek aesthetics with hardware that actually keeps up with a hectic lifestyle. This new tablet seems to follow that same philosophy. Been using this for a couple of days now, and it helps me with content creation lately. My first impression? It feels incredibly light yet surprisingly sturdy in the hand. While I’m not planning on dropping it just to see what happens, there’s a reassuring “extra-durable” quality to the build that makes it feel less like a fragile piece of glass and more like a tool meant to be used on the go.
Not to give you a lot at this point but the standout feature so far is undoubtedly the 11-inch HONOR Eye Comfort FullView Display. It’s hitting that sweet spot with a 90Hz refresh rate, making every scroll feel fluid and responsive. What’s even more impressive is the 500 nits of brightness—it’s punchy enough to stay vivid even when you’re catching up on emails or watching clips in direct sunlight.
I’m particularly excited to put this through its paces because I’ll be packing it for my trip to Davao next week. Whether I’m using it to stay productive during the flight or winding down with a series at the hotel, it feels like the perfect travel buddy to keep in my bag.
