I honestly couldn’t have picked a better home base for my time in Pampanga than Royce Hotel and Casino. There’s something about the atmosphere there that hits the perfect balance between high-end energy and genuine relaxation. I live in Bulacan, so I am very familiar with Clark’s progress, and Royce is true to its promise. From the moment I checked in, the pace of the weekend just slowed down in the best way possible, which was exactly what I needed.
My stay in the Superior Room was a highlight. It wasn’t just about having a place to sleep; the room felt genuinely cozy and well-thought-out. The bed was one of those “sink-into-it” types that makes waking up early a real challenge, and the overall aesthetic felt modern yet warm. It’s the kind of space where you actually want to spend time lounging rather than just dropping off your bags and heading out. I was really tired because of multiple events during the week, so I was very happy with how I slept in time for my run Sunday morning.
But let’s talk about the real star of the show: the buffet breakfast. I’m a firm believer that a hotel is only as good as its morning spread, and Royce definitely understands the assignment. It wasn’t just a standard continental layout; it was a full-on feast. Walking into the dining area and being greeted by the smell of freshly brewed coffee and garlic rice is the ultimate wake-up call. The selection was impressive—from the classic Filipino favorites like savory longganisa and perfectly seasoned tapa to the live egg stations where you can get your omelet exactly how you like it. I found myself going back for seconds (and maybe thirds) of the fresh pastries, which were buttery and flaky, just the way they should be.
The timing of my stay was actually for the TCS Clark Animo Run 2026, and I have to say, staying at Royce made the entire race weekend so much more manageable. Anyone who runs knows that the pre-race jitters and the post-race exhaustion are real. Having such a comfortable, seamless place to retreat to after crossing the finish line made my recovery infinitely better. Instead of dealing with a stressful commute or a cramped room, I was able to just kick back, enjoy the amenities, and let my legs recover in total comfort. It turned what could have been an exhausting trip into a proper “runcation.”
I’m already thinking about when I can head back. If you’re looking for a spot in Clark that feels like a treat without being stuffy, I really can’t recommend Royce enough. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve checked out.
