Okay, so, remember that unboxing I did? I gave you guys a quick peek at the realme 14 Pro+ 5G. Well, I’ve been putting it through its paces, and I’ve got all the sample photos and my full review ready to share. Honestly, this new realme 14 Series, is pretty impressive. They’ve really focused on the camera and durability, so you can get some great shots. And the design? It’s definitely got that premium feel. Plus, they’ve packed it with all sorts of features, so it’s a solid all-around phone.
I think I myself am the target market for realme 14 Pro+ 5G. Basically, you’re looking at people who are super plugged in, always on social media, sharing their lives—the kind who are just as happy showing off in person as they are online. I’d like to believe we are the trendsetters, the ones who want the best performance and experience, and we love to get out and explore and travel, you know?
And they’re serious about their photos. I brought these in Cebu during our visit last week and even took some shots during my night jog at Ayala Triangle, and it delivers! Like these two below, I am so obsessed!
Like, they’re willing to shell out for a phone with a killer camera. They want crystal-clear shots, something that snaps pictures fast, and especially, they want something they can take underwater. That’s the kind of thing that makes them ditch their old phone and upgrade.
For its battery life? This phone’s got it. We’re talking a huge battery, way bigger than your average phone. Like, they’re saying it’s at least 20% bigger than what you usually get, and that’s on top of already having a decent-sized 5000mAh battery. Basically, you’re going to get hours and hours out of this phone before you even need to think about plugging it in. And when you do need a charge, it’s got that SUPERVOOC fast charging, so you’re back up and running in no time, and it’s all safe and reliable.
Alright, let’s talk about the screen. It’s a big one, a 6.83-inch display. And it’s OLED, which means the colors really pop, and the blacks are super deep. Plus, it’s got this cool quad-curved design, so it feels really smooth in your hand. It’s also got a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes everything look super smooth and fluid. The resolution’s 1.5K, which translates to 2800 by 1272 pixels. Basically, it’s sharp. Perfect for my random series catch-up.
Let’s talk about the Suede Grey color. As I have mentioned during my unboxing article. They’ve really gone all out on the design. They’re saying it’s made with eco-friendly stuff, and they were going for that high-end handbag look, which, honestly, kind of pulls off. It’s super thin, too, just a hair under 8 millimeters, so it feels good in your hand. And they’ve made it so it doesn’t get all gross and stained easily. Like, it’s supposed to be resistant to wear and tear.
Performance: This phone’s got a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 5G chip. That means it can handle two 5G SIM cards at the same time, which is handy. This one also tweaked it to take better night shots, and it’s just plain faster than the older chips.
Like, everything’s smoother, whether you’re editing videos, playing games, or just scrolling through your feed. And if you’re into mobile gaming, this thing can push out some serious frames. They’re saying you can get up to 120 frames per second in games like Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends and 90 frames in Call of Duty: Mobile.
For someone who attends celebrity events like me or loves night photography, this one pulls off. It’s got a 50-megapixel Sony sensor, and it’s a big one, which is awesome for taking pictures at night or when there’s not much light. Basically, it suckers in a lot of light, so your shots come out brighter and clearer. It also has optical image stabilization (OIS), which is like a built-in stabilizer.
It stops your photos from getting blurry if your hands are a bit shaky. So, even if you’re moving around, you get sharp pictures. To get a bit techy for a sec, it’s got a 1/1.56″ sensor, an f/1.88 aperture, and a 2x in-sensor zoom. Plus, it’s got that 24mm equivalent focal length. But basically, what it boils down to is: this camera’s really good at taking pictures in the dark.
For selfies, this phone’s got a pretty decent 32-megapixel camera. You can take regular shots or zoom out a bit for a wider angle. And get this, it’s got this fancy eye auto-focus thing, like the cameras on really expensive phones, so your face is always sharp. Plus, it’s got a wide angle, so you can get more of your friends in the shot, and it lets in a good amount of light, too. Here are some examples.
Storage-wise, you can get it with up to 512GB, which is just… a ton. Think like you could cram, I dunno, a hundred and twenty thousand photos or songs on there, or almost two thousand TV episodes. I think all my favorite series will fit into the storage. It’s crazy. And, because it’s fast storage, apps load up super quick, even the big ones.
And the RAM? They’ve got this trick where they can basically borrow storage space and turn it into extra RAM. So, you start with 12GB, and they can add another 14GB on top of that, giving you a total of 26GB. Which, honestly, is nuts. It means you can have a ton of apps open at once, switch between them without any lag, and just generally do a bunch of stuff at the same time without it slowing down. Like, you could have 26 apps just sitting there, ready to go.
Okay, so when they say this phone’s tough, they mean it. You know those IP ratings? They’re basically saying how much water and dust a phone can handle.
- IP6X: That just means zero dust is getting inside, period. It’s totally sealed up.
- IP66: This thing can take a serious soaking. We’re talking powerful water jets from any angle. Think garden hose on full blast, and it’s fine.
- IP68: You could dunk this thing in a meter and a half of water for half an hour, and it’ll still work. Seriously.
- IP69: This is where it gets wild. Not only does it handle dust and being submerged, but it can also take high-pressure, hot water sprays. Like, imagine someone cleaning it with a power washer, and it’s totally good.
