After couple of delays and planning, the 69th Miss Universe competition finally got its coronation date night! After Zozibini Tunzi crowned as Miss Universe 2019, the competition is heading back to Hollywood after the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) announced that the official home of Miss Universe 2020 is going to be held at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida on May 16. That would be Monday morning Manila time.
Zozibini Tunzi was the first black woman from South Africa to win the Miss Universe crown, she won the title last December 8, 2019. Catriona Gray crowned her as successor to the crown. She also made history by eschewing expectations and electing to compete with her natural, short-cropped hair, reflecting a deep shift in beauty standards in the pageant industry and beyond.
Rabiya Mateo is representing the Philippines to the competition. Rabiya was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2020 last October 25, 2020.
