Sarah Geronimo-Guidicelli Invites Everyone to Participate in 2020 Census Campaign

Trust me when I say I was planning to write something about Sarah Geronimo‘s upcoming birthday today after hearing she prepared something enormous on ASAP this coming Sunday. But then I’ve heard that she is now officially the first-ever celebrity endorser of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for the 2020 Housing census. Wonderful news!

Originally, house to house census happens every summer, but due to the pandemic, PSA moved it to September this year. As far as I know, they never had any celebrity endorser up until now.

Minette Esquivias, Assistant National Statistician, added: “It helps to have a popular figure leading the campaign because it gives the project more weight. People will definitely be more interested when they see their idol endorsing the campaign.”

Florante Varona, officer-in-charge, National Censuses Service, said: “There was no other choice. From the beginning, we already had Sarah Geronimo in mind. She is known to most Filipinos from all walks of life. As such, we believe her to be perfect for the job.”

Joseph Cajita, population and housing division chief, said: “Sarah is very relatable. People easily identify with her. Sarah was and is our only choice to lead the campaign.”

Speaking of birthday, Sarah Geronimo is celebrating her upcoming birthday this 25th of July and of course a grand celebration is coming on ASAP this Sunday and that is something we should be seeing! This is also the first time Sarah Geronimo is celebrating as Sarah Geronimo Guidicelli.

Sarah Geronimo are now being judged for her silence in the recent ABS-CBN Franchise denial. It’s a complicated discussion and I was glad that she posted something in her social media supporting her home network. Am I expecting? Yes. Am I anticipating? Yes, but not to the point of making it a celebrity versus celebrity fighting for who said it better. I would rather look for the beauty in it and ask people to remember who the real enemy is.
