(TV) ALDUB Losing its Flame Even on Primetime? Kantar, AGB Share NATIONWIDE Ratings

Tagged as the Phenomenal loveteam in Philippine Television, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza AKA ALDUB recently aired its first series in GMA Network’s Primetime telecast last monday. Entitled Destined To Be Yours, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza play Sinag and Benjie in the series respectively. The series also stars my favorite Janice De Belen, Lotlot De Leon, Matthew Mendoza, Tommy Abuel, Ina Feleo, Gardo Versoza and many more.

This is an opportunity for Alden and Maine to showcase other talents aside from hosting the longest running noontime show in the Philippines, Eat Bulaga.

Of course, everyone is anticipated who did it fare in the never ending ratings game on television. With the popularity they gained last year, Destined To Be Yours is indeed one of the much anticipated projects for Alden and Maine.

According to Kantar Media, which uses a nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes, represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population, Destined To Be Yours failed to reclaim top spot on its primetime after ABSCBN’s My Dear Heart continue to be the leading series on Primetime second spot. Last Monday, Destined To Be Yours recorded 20.2 versus My Dear Heart‘s 29.1. By Tuesday, My Dear Heart back to 30% run while Destine to Be Yours registed a below 20%.

Lets watch the FULL TRAILER of DESTINED TO BE YOURS posted by GMA Network in Youtube.

In a different ratings provider, NUTAM, a ratings provider of AGB Nielsen, Destined To Be Yours recorded a 22.5% on its pilot episode.

Feb 27: DTBY 22.5% vs MDH 19.6%

Feb 28: DTBY 20.6% MDH 20.3%

Mar 1: DTBY 18.4% vs MDH 17.5%

Mar 2 DTBY 20.9% vs MDH 20.5%

With these running ratings both from Kantar and NUTAM, it seems like My Dear Heart continues to maintain its position as one of the well loved series while DTBY didn’t recover to reach 20++ since last night. With a very short gap in NUTAM’s result, DTBY needs to catch up on its rating. Or could it be, the trends on twitter doesn’t agree on actual rural and urban audience?

  1. For us living in abroad, we reakly don’t care about the tv ratings. We are fan of Alden and Maine. Seeing them in real teleserye is like reviving the glory of the kalyeserye where it all started. Happy na kami it’s not really about the rating, this tv series is a guft to all of us who had seen them grow from the very beginning.

  3. Aldub fans said that ratings doesn’t matter daw. Baka sakali.
