(TV) HBO Asia Holds ‘Game Of Thrones’ Screening; Launches HBO GO Streaming Service!

Last monday, HBO Asia organized a very medieval inspired wedding dinner and exclusive preview of much anticipated premiere of the Emmy®– and Golden Globe-winning GAME OF THRONES, 12 hours straight from the US PREMIERE. Same night when they also announced the latest favorite app, its broadband streaming service, HBO GO, in the Philippines exclusively on SKYcable.

Being an avid fan of the series, I am one of the few who silently hid my excitement to the return of the dragons. Fresh from the last season and encouraged by the Red Wedding slaughter in the Riverlands that wiped out many of their Stark nemeses, the Lannisters’ hold on the Iron Throne remains intact. In the north, a depleted Night’s Watch seems overmatched against the inexorable Wall advances of Mance Rayder’s army of wildlings, which in turn is being trailed by an even more formidable foe: the undead White Walkers.

While having dinner, I downloaded the HBO GO app right on my ipad mini.

For starters, HBO GO is a versatile service enabling subscribers to maximize their HBO experience across multiple devices, whether at home or on the move. Available exclusively to SKYcable in the Philippines, subscribers of HBO GO can enjoy watching almost 1200 hours of quality HBO Original content 12-hours after U.S. telecast.

HBO GO’s broadband streaming service allows users to enjoy almost 1200 hours of uncut award-winning HBO and CINEMAX Original content on multiple devices including computers, tablets and smartphones (iOS and Android) anywhere, anytime. Subscribers of HBO GO will be the first to watch critically acclaimed HBO and CINEMAX Original series such as Game Of Thrones, True Detective, Girls, Veep and Strike Back, 12-hours after they premiere in the U.S., even before they air on HBO.

HBO GO enables subscribers unlimited access to an extensive library of original movies, concerts, documentaries, and series, including complete seasons of all-time favorites like Sex And The City, Band Of Brothers, The Pacific, The Sopranos, and Entourage, and thought-provoking titles like Angels In America and John Adams. Special behind-the-scenes content of HBO Originals such as Boardwalk Empire, True Blood and Banshee is also available exclusively on HBO GO.
