Last Tuesday, I was with some bloggers for lunch to meet the Brand ambassador of Lapostolle, Mr Diego Urra with well loved people from Hennessy for a successful launch of the Lapostolle wines namely Cuvee Alexandre Chardonnay, Cuvée Alexandre Merlot and Clos Apalta.
The meeting was primarily for us to taste and see it for ourselves how good these wines are and who am I to refuse? Served with best of Zuni’s main Angus Beef (which is my favorite main course) and good conversation about the wine business back in chile, everyone is enjoying the sumptuous meal.

The Cuvee Alexandre Chardonnay which I think is best for (I think) seafood and roasted meat is undoubtedly one of the nicest creamy textured wine with tropical flavor. Its light gold color with a hint of hazelnuts was elegantly served. I think if Im not going back to office that day I would have stayed and enjoy the remaining.
Theres also the Cuvee Alexandre Merlot, a birth and deep red and purple ruby that smells so good. Merlot I think is ideal for meat combo or any elaborate dishes.

And of course the Clost Apalta in which the color the aromas are intense and profound, and the complexity of this young wine demonstrates is potential in becoming an elegant and even more complex wine with five more years of ageing.
63% Carmenere, the rest a blend of Merlot, Cabernet, and Petit Verdot. I really liked this one. The aromas of baking spices, vanilla, plums, and intense strawberry fruit were enticing. And there was even a very slight herbal quality. Good soft tannins and a long finish. I decided not to spit this one out.
Comes with 14.5% alcohol with a natural cork sealed. Clos Apalta i gues is lso best served with Roasted veal or lamb with a complex sauce.
Hennessy has earned its reputation from producing and distributing quality high class beverages such as Belvedere Vodka, KRUG, Chandon, Terrazas and the like.
Casa Lapostolle was established in 1994 and is already one of Chile’s leading wine producers. It is owned by the Marnier-Lapostolle family, producers of the famous Grand-Marnier liqueur, and is managed by Alexandra Marnier-Lapostolle.
I will recommend this to friends.
