Quick story, the unexpected change of Ninoy Aquino Day from Wednesday to Friday absolutely threw off my well-laid out holiday schedule. Thank goodness, the day was rescued by my careful planning. I’m actually gazing at my google calendar on this realme 12 as I finish up all my deadlines, thinking back on how this new device got me through the insanity of the holidays. So as promise, here are my full article review of realme 12 so here we go.
I have discussed my unboxing last week, the realme 12 box contains the following:
| In the Box | realme 12 smartphone, 67W SUPERVOOC Charging Adapter, Type A to Type C USB Cable, Warranty Card, Safety Guide, Quick Guide, SIM Ejector Pin, Protector Case. |
More of my unboxing here: realme 12 Unboxing and First Impression.
The look of realme 12 has an elegant, contemporary design that draws inspiration from the world of luxury watches.
For me, it is aesthetically pleasing and easy to grasp. It comes in the chic Pioneer Green and Skyline Blue tones. Additionally, because I’m biased towards green, this matches well with the majority of my outfit. Its weight of 187 grams and thin profile of 7.92 mm allow for easy one-handed use, making it the ideal travel companion.
I think I have mentioned during my unboxing how I am obsessed with its design and display. The 6.67-inch E4 AMOLED display on the realme 12 is amazing and provides a vivid visual experience. With an astounding screen-to-body ratio of 92.65%, the gadget minimizes bezels while maximizing screen real estate. Sharp, detailed images can be obtained with its FHD+ resolution, and excellent sight is guaranteed even in bright outdoor environments thanks to its Sunlight Display. Rainwater Smart Touch is supported by the display, guaranteeing that the realme 12 remains responsive even when fingers or the screen are damp. In addition, when paired with screen protectors and waterproof pouches, the AI Protective Film Touch preserves up to 96% of touch accuracy.
Ok let’s take a look at these specification:
| Display | E4 AMOLED, 6.67 inches, FHD+ 2400 x 1080, 394 PPI, 92.65% screen-to-body ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, 600 nits (Typ), 1200 nits (HBM), 2000 nits (Sunlight Mode), IP54 Dust & Water Resistance |

| Battery Capacity | 5000mAh |
| Power Supply | 67W SUPERVOOC Charge |

I particularly adore how it adjusted to my surroundings as I was watching my local series. Based on surrounding light, the Adaptive Brightness function intelligently modifies the screen’s brightness, and the 100% DCI-P3 color accuracy ensures vibrant colors.
The Realme 12’s camera is a standout feature. Equipped with a Sony LYT600 OIS Portrait Camera, it excels at capturing intricate details of both subjects and surroundings. The Portrait Mode, utilizing a 48mm Portrait Focal Length, brings images to life with vivid colors and natural perspectives. It’s impressive how well it captures the essence of a subject, making portraits feel more dynamic and engaging. By the way, here I am using the portrait mode tired from work.
And some of the shots I took over the week. This one is overlooking the skyline of Ortigas (Wackwack greenhills)

This one below I actually took this using low light and impressively adjusted its color.
With its amazing 8GB+256GB storage combination, the realme 12 is a Godsend for people like me who have long photo archives. Its large RAM makes multitasking easy, allowing it to manage several apps at once. With the ability to store an incredible amount of data—think over 1,000 TV series episodes, 60,000 songs, or even 60,000 photos—this device is a digital hoarder’s dream. It’s a rather impressive storage powerhouse. Imagine downloading the entire Greys Anatomy episodes in this phone.
Also before I forget here are the processor and OS of realme 12 including its connectivity.
| System | Operating System: realme UI 5.0, Android 14, Voice Assistant: Google Assistant, Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 (6nm; 4G) |
| Connectivity | WiFi: 2.4GHz, 5GHz, Bluetooth: Bluetooth 5.0, Frequency Bands: 2G / 3G / 4G |
Again, realme 12 caters to a wide range of consumers, including those who are interested in documenting life’s moments, especially in areas like food, media, sports, and lifestyle; Gen Z and Yuppies who value accessibility, aesthetics, and superior camera quality. Here I am attending a pre-christmas event. The camera didn’t disappoint!
Overall, I believe realme 12 is positioned as a flexible smartphone solution for all generations due to its widespread appeal. I highly recommended it to seasoned professionals and Millennials like me looking for a balance of affordability, stylish design, versatile camera features, and comprehensive functionality.
