Have to admit, work from home was a challenge for me given the competing work & household stuff priorities not to mention a conducive work station. But when Pandemic hit my most concern was the environmental noise. That is why I got the chance to familiarize with available earbuds in the market and I’m telling you, most of the releases are very competitive in terms of specs. Today, I’m sharing my review about the HUAWEI Freebuds 4i.
Quick Specs
Bluetooth Compatibility: BT 5.2
Voice call duration: 6.5 hours (with noise canceling disabled)
Charging case: 215 mAh (min.)
I brought this to my weekend getaway and aesthetically I’m impress with its pleasing appearance. This HUAWEI FreeBuds 4i is said to be inspired by a black sand beaches of Iceland. Its charging case is very smooth and you might need a case (Which you can also avail at Huawei stores) to make sure it will be scratch-free for a long time..
Actually I like how it perfectly fit into my ears. Good because I don’t want these to fall while walking or while I’m on the move. I haven’t tried wearing it on my regular jogs but I was able to wear it on my P2P bus ride. It feels like its really classy! Every inch of the design curves like flowing water, treating the user’s skin gently. Also, thanks to the Type-C USB charging. If its not wireless, a Type-C USB is also a consideration in getting one.
For those asking this one can play music for 10 hours continuously on a full charge. When I say charge, the industry-leading quick charge technology gives you 4 hours’ audio enjoyment from a 10-minute charge – perfect when you’re in a hurry.
For me the best selling point of any earbuds is its ability to cancel noise around you. As that became my main problem at home, it pays to know your earbuds whether it solves your problem. Luckily, HUAWEI Freebuds 4i has optimized noise cancellation to help me with dog barking, chickens and stuff. HUAWEI FreeBuds 4i uses microphones to detect ambient noise and adopts active noise cancellation algorithms to create inverted acoustic waves to cancel it out.
I tried it during one of my zoom meetings and it delivered perfectly. Of course, it doesn’t guarantee total cancellation but enough to lessens my worry. Ive learned that this HUAWEI FreeBuds 4i uses multiple technologies including the emission of “inverted soundwave”, supported by two external microphones for accurate sound pickup. Nice treat!
To further enjoy the experience, I love how they added a sensitive touch sensor to control your audio. It has built-in capacitive touch sensors on both sides of the earbuds, which can accurately determine the user’s habits and further improve their degree of sensitivity. Low latency requires Huawei smartphones or tablets running EMUI11.0 or above. For starters you can tap and press this and achieve this command:
Tap twice: Music playback: Play / pause music Voice call: Answer / end call
Long press: Turn on / off ANC / Awareness Mode
Overall, I love how HUAWEI Freebuds 4i deliver the sound quality that I need. Oh by the way, HUAWEI Freebuds 4i comes with Ceramic White and Carbon Black variants. They also have vibrant colourway – Red. This beauty is priced at P3,599. With its value for money, I think this one is worth a try!
