Some of the country’s most macho male celebrities joined the recently concluded Who’s the Champ? The Jollibee Champ Eating Challenge”, the nationwide search for the fastest Jollibee Champ eater.
The action-packed grand finals held recently at the TriNoma Activity Center in Quezon City was made more exciting by the Jollibee Champ celebrity challenge. Erik Tai of the Philippine Volcanoes, Itchyworms frontman Jugs Jugueta, and model-actor Jon Hall, who was also a challenger in the first Jollibee Drive-Thru Cross-Country Challenge, also attempted to bring down the big burger goodness of the Jollibee Champ.
In the end, rugby athlete Erik Tai went home with P10,000 cash and Jollibee gift certificates after winning the judges’ nod in the “cutest Champ eater” challenge. At second place, Jugueta won P5,000 while Jon Hall won P3,000 in cash at third place. Both celebrities also won Jollibee gift certificates.
The ultimate winner of the “Who’s the Champ? The Jollibee Champ Eating Challenge”, was Conrad Herrera, analyst and Metro Manila-North contender. Herrera knocked down a Jollibee Champ burger at an impressive 27.10 seconds, besting five other contenders representing different regions around the Philippines — North Luzon, South Luzon, Metro Manila-South, Visayas and Mindanao. The winner went home with
P50,000 in cash and P5,000 worth of Jollibee gift certificates along with the Champ belt.
At second place, 27-year-old Miguel Araneta, a BPO mentor from Mandaluyong City, finished his Jollibee Champ in 42.46 seconds. Third placer NorvinYusoff Jr., a former OFW from Cavite, downed his Jollibee Champ in 44.90 seconds.
