American Idol Star David Archuleta is set to do a TV series for local (KAPATID) network TV5. Last week I was invited to his Grand presscon at Shangri-La to check what in store for him and suprisingly, Im also excited to see him doing other than singing. Yes, He’ll be doing a primetime series for TV5 with Jasmin Curtis-Smith and Eula Caballero. During the Press conference, He mentioned that it was really fun being in the Philippines. during the entire presscon, he was smiling until the end of the run and I can feel how happy he was now that he’s back in the country.
“I feel comfortable with the people here and I feel the fans have always been warm here”. He will also sing NANDITO AKO, which is also the title of the series he” be doing. Whats interesting about the presscon was when he was asked if He is open to falling in love with a Filipina, David replied “You can never say never.”
Looking back, I am a real fan of David Archuleta. His recent concert here at the Araneta was a total riot! We were there because his album, The Other side of Down is one of my favorite albums released in 2011 among IDOL Alumni. I wax really surprised that TV5 is very eager to get some good frontliners to do a show for the network, one of the impressive plans a TV Network can do.
So when I got that invitation from the Network, I asked twitter if they have some questions for David Archuleta. Though I wasnt able to ask him due to limited number of time, most of the questions were asked and theres one thing that caught me and made me like David more. David Archuleta is also involved with helping willing teenagers make a difference in others’ lives with disaster relief. He is also one of several teen celebrities taking part in Dosomething.org‘s Teens for Jeans charity initiative, which donates denim to homeless teenagers nationwide. While he mentioned that he will take some time off from music to fulfill a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he also stated that he’s not retiring, and will return to music upon the completion of his mission. What a nice person.

Im sure his fans will be delighted as David Archuleta will be seen daily, as confirmed by TV5 Executive Perci Intalan that the series will be aired daily. #followarchuleta will be your exclusive source of online content, photos, videos and other updates about David Archuleta’s stay in the Philippines!
