What a wonderful first week of September for me as I was invited to take an early glimpse on what will happen to one of the much awaited foodie event here in the Philippines. The SM Mall of Asia International Food Festival which will happen from September 5 to the end of the month. Together with my happy lifestyle blogger friends, we visited some of the participating restaurants.
Our first stop: Japanese. The Famous TEMPURA!
What is International Food Festival?
Well for starters, The MOA International Food Festival is a month long activity that includes an exciting lineup of food tasting, live cooking and demonstrations that will surely whet your appetite from great food discoveries. This food festival also will give all participants a chance to win awesome prizes and special treats.
Over 50 participating restaurants in Mall of Asia will showcase special dishes made solely for this celebration of world class cuisine. So we visited Tempura for our early dinner prior to rush hour.
Tempura welcomed us four with some very refreshing shakes. These are Banana Nut, Cucumber Mint, my favorite Four season and Watermelon Shake.
TEMPURA Surprised me their first special dish served before our eyes! Tempura’s DRAGON ROLL!
This delicious DRAGON ROLL with Teriyaki Sauce looks legitimate replacement to your favorite sushi choices as this also has mango and cucumber inside. OF course you can never go wrong with a king prawn right?
Then we had this Japanese stew called SUKIYAKI. Me as a ramen lover, the ingredients on top of SUKIYAKI Noodles are delightfully an eye candy for me. I love how Tempura presented this and in no time, the 4 of us immediately shared these mouth watering stew.
The third one Kaisen Raizu, a Japanese fried rice topped with seafood. Kaisen Raizu also has scallops, squid, shrimps and fish plus anchovies on the side.
And of course, TEMPURA, the Japanese meal for all season.
When Tempura served this next dish, I was already full. But upon tasting this Honey Miso Glazed Salmon, I would say that this is my favorite. the texture of the salmon and the way it was cooked makes it more inviting.
We were like treated to a full Japanese experience that time. Chef ensures that our trip will end with a bang. So he served this “how can I resist” Chocolate Ganache Mousse Cake!
