I was surprised when Party Pilipinas announces that they will air their final episode this Sunday May 19, 2013. Soon as I got the information, I called my friend in GMA7 to confirm the veracity of the brouhaha. But to no avail, wasnt able to get the answers that time (maybe its weekend?) And yesterday, election day, they released a statement confirming the news.
Lilybeth G. Rasonable, OIC Entertainment TV of GMA Network:
“In a few weeks, there will be exciting changes in the Sunday noontime offering of GMA.
The new musical variety show will have more fun and thrilling elements that viewers must definitely watch out for, still with the biggest and brightest Kapuso stars.
More information on the show will be announced soon.”
With this changes, expect the latest news here on what to expect next on Kapuso Sunday variety noon time show. PARTY PILIPINAS is a Sunday Philippine music variety show broadcasted by GMA Network. The show premiered on 28 March 2010, replacing the defunct SOP Fully Charged. Now that Christian Bautista recenltly signed to the show, I hope that he will also be a part of the new show on sunday.
Last February, Movie Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) cracked the whip on GMA-7’s “Party Pilipinas” as it put the show on probation for six months over a “sexually-charged” dance number. While on probation, Villareal, quoting an MTRCB order issued February 7, said the program shall be placed on a per-episode basis, “which means that any violation of the MTRCB rules, laws and regulations would mean placing the program off air without prejudice to other sanctions.”
I saw a tweet from unofficial twitter account (fan based) timeline that it was cancelled due to multiple violations. This one I need to confirm with executives from GMA7.
