I got the chance to meet interesting people (chefs specifically) from GMA-7 and San Miguel Pure Foods Company Inc. (SMPFC) new cooking show that features the country’s top showbiz and lifestyle personalities, the Cooking With The Star.
The set visit was indeed fun as the conversation went really well. Chef Maricel Manalo,Chefs Martin del Prado and Chef Rene Ruz sat with us and very cordial in answering our questions.
GRACE LEE also shared a lot of interesting details about her hosting the show.
Is this your first hosting gig in a cooking show?
No. Its my second. The first one was Eateria, it’s more of a cooking travel show, we feature a lot of food, local delicacies but we also have some cooking portions on it, But if you talk about pure cooking , Cooking with the stars is my first.
What are your favorite Restos here in Manila?
Well, Italian cuisine I love Caruso. Japanese, Oh I think Dusit has one of the best Japanese restaurants. Spanish I think its Casa Armas, well they maintain the good quality of food. And there’s one for Comfort Food, the Chateau 1771 , a lot of good comfort food, very traditional.
What are you favorite FOOD?
At the beginning Grace Lee shares she’s very much thankful to GMA and San Miguel Pure Foods for trusting her with this project. She also mentioned she recently finished culinary school and her past time are reading cookbooks, researching recipes – “So mahilig talaga akong magluto at mahilig din talagang kumain. Kaya when I eat, I eat with gusto!” Grace concluded.
In addition, the show also has “Cooking Star of the Barangay”, where they will visit some barangays, bringing with them a live brass band and dancing food servers, which will definitely get residents of these barangays in fiesta mode.
