What are the things that come to mind when you hear the place Binondo? To some, it is just an old city of Manila, but to a lot of us, it could be searching for multiple authentic Chinese Restaurants to dine, or a view of vast array of Ancient houses of Manila. Many years ago, Binondo Manila was the center of financial community in the Metro and its nearby area Escolta used to be the Wall Street of the Philippines because most of the Banks were stationed there.
I remember reading a comparison of Old Binondo from Ivan Lakwatsero blog. Below is a photo of old Binondo Church from Batang Lakwatsero Blog
Fast forward to today’s state, Binondo Manila now a modern location of trade and shopping. While it became crowded in some of the area, Binondo managed to maintain its authenticity. With a lot of malls and hotels being built in the last 10 years, Binondo remained the community to visit in Manila.
Seven years ago, Binondo changed its landscape to a modern community of shopping stores when Megaworld opened Lucky Chinatown Mall. I was there haha! Covering such event when Megaworld Lifestyle Malls brings fantastic new choices and experiences. They started this inspiring lifestyles of all kinds in the heart of Binondo. Its unique blend of metropolitan modernity and heritage promise to enrich the lives of residents and visitors alike for years to come.
This year, Megaworld continues to provide Binondo a community it deserve. It finally launched the Hotel Lucky Chinatown.

Okay let me give you a quick first hand tour of the interiors and amenities of Hotel Lucky Chinatown Hotel.
My fellow blogger Earth Rullan already inquired about the opening rates during the launch.
Hotel Lucky Chinatown also has 3 Grand ballrooms for events and different occasion named after famous streets in Manila such as Escolta, Ongpin and Benavidez.
Hotel Lucky Chinatown resident manager Jeremy Go said guests would be able to experience the vibe in the world’s oldest Chinatown. “With the hotel directly connected to Manila Chinatown’s biggest mall, guests will be able to savor the distinct, dynamic vibe of the Chinatown culture as they enjoy the sights and sounds of this bustling hub,” Go said.
Here are some views of the hotel rooms.
Oh by the way, Hotel Lucky Chinatown is targeting travellers as it is strategically located just around 40 minutes away from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
There is one thing in every hotel staycation I always look forward to (other than the buffet breakfast), it is the amenities that includes massage and sauna after all in a day’s work. And Hotel Lucky Chinatown didn’t disappoint. Their treatment room is heaven!
And of-course, the state of the art Gym. I look forward to book one weekend here! Oh by the way, Megaworld launches its own Hotel Reward thru CLUB ACCESS where everyone can enjoy perks and privileges. Find out more here: CLUB ACCESS
They also have a big restaurant and is being operated by the Raintree Group of Companies, the group behind Museum Café and Terraz in Makati and Chelsea Kitchen.
