Last saturday, Its Showtime segment Tawag Ng Tanghalan held its finale making Noven Belleza as the newest Champion of the oldest singing competition of ABSCBN. Its seems like everyone dropped everything in anticipation of every single performance of the finalists.
Its showtime is currently the undisputed noontime variety show in the Philippines since it started airing in 2009. During the last two quarters of 2015, Its Showtime lost big time to Eat Bulaga after the latter discovered a groundbreaking tandem of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza or popularly known as ALDUB.
In January 12, 2016 Showtime regain its title after a nationwide ratings provider Kantar Media revealed that The 5-month lead of Eat Bulaga in afternoon timeslot ended. Kantar Media, which uses a nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes, represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population released the nationwide result overtaking the longest running noontime show Eat Bulaga in ratings game. Kantar Media released the noontime figures for March 11, 2017 and ITS SHOWTIME recorded its ALL TIME HIGH as a NOONTIME SHOW 33.6% versus Eat Bulaga 11.7%. This is by far the widest GAP Its Showtime ever recorded in the history of noontime show.
Showtime started as a morning program of ABSCBN and it has its own record. Last January 24, 2010 ITS SHOWTIME RECORDED its RECORD BREAKING 35% as a Morning Program.
Eat Bulaga‘s widest gap to showtime on the other hand is the TAMANG PANAHON saturday episode (October 2015) when it recorded 40.1% Nationwide ratings.
