Today, August 13 we are celebrating a unique merriment of sort: The International Left Handers day. I know we don’t usually celebrate the event here in the Philippines but this year, we are making an exception! Because, one of my beloved brands, Pilipinas Shell is making the International Left Handers Day felt here!
For those of you who didn’t know, I am a left handed (since birth). Though before I do not have enough information about left handed(s) in the world until I get to know the initiative and awareness from Pilipinas Shell. And did you know that only a small fraction of the world’s population is more skillful with their left hands, which is why a lot of things in this world are designed for right-handed people. (Yes, I am part of minority for that matter). This makes everyday activities for left-handers tricky, such as using a pair of scissors, writing on a spiral notebook, and using a computer mouse.
So this week, I accepted a challenge from Shell in an exciting activity– that is doing some tasks using only our left hands.
I want you to watch this interesting video starring myself, and some of the left and right handed individuals who said yes to this activity:
As Pilipinas Shell continues its commitment to make every visit to a Shell service station a delightful experience for all customers. Shell celebrates with motorists every special day such as the International Left-hander’s Day, and more surprises are in store for Shell patrons in the coming months that will surely delight them in more ways than one.
On International Left-hander’s Day, Pilipinas Shell is giving away a unique gift to left-handed motorists that they could use every day. This coming August 13, left-handed customers who will drop by from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at any of the 60 participating Shell stations nationwide will be treated to an ergonomically-designed pen that will help them write easier and more comfortably.
Thank you Shell for making this celebration possible here in the Philippines!
