Im not sure if you guys have seen this awesome musical Rak of Aegis, inspired by the popular songs of the local rock band, Aegis, is a musical filled with visual spectacle showcasing the Pinoy’s natural love for music and innate resilience in the face of calamity. With its successful comedic approach to social issues and its catchy musical arrangements, Rak of Aegis has succeeded in bringing thousands of Filipinos to the theater.
Last July and August it has a successful rerun and many of the theater lovers are saying that this is a refreshing batch of story telling. when I watched the show last time, I was with some ABSCBN Bosses including Star Magic’s pride Mr Johnny Manahan. If Im not mistaken he said that night, “Next year sa ‘tin na yan” (Next year we should have this show). Coming from the starmaker himself, it was really a clear indication that the show has potential. And speaking of potential, there are news that this will be adapted to big screen very very soon.
Rumored cast of this highly commended musical is no other than the 2014’s Most Beautiful star of YES Magazine, Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo.
The PETA producers of this musical said that there are two film outfits inquiring about the film rights. I cant wait to see this translated to motion picture. Its been awhile since we have that genre plus the Sarah Geronimo Box Office vibes. Though I know the Popstar Royalty is currently occupied with the second season of THE VOICE. and by the way, she is nominated to the MTV Europe Music Awards and representing our country in the Best Southeast Asia Act Category. you can vote and read about this nomination HERE
