The long wait is over for the comeback of primetime princess, Kim Chiu in MY BINONDO GIRL.
A big solo presscon for Kim at Choi Resto at San Juan was held yesterday August 11 to talk about her upcoming series and her role as Jade, a girl who despite growing up with a loving mother, Zheny (Aiai Delas Alas) and a loving grandmother, Amor (Gina Pareno), still yearns for the love and approval of her Chinese father, Chen Sy (Richard Yap).
Kim recalls her Hongkong experience while shooting the series as relaxing but limited time.
“Hindi po kami masyadong nakapaglibot sa Hong Kong. Pero nakakatuwa ang mga tiangge dun, mura lang ang mga gamit.
Nag-Macau rin kami, ang ganda doon. First time ko dun.” She said.
I was able to ask her a few questions:
Rod: What did she realize about men now that she’s portraying being a guy again.
Kim:”Mainit pala magsuot ng suit. Mahirap rin palang maging lalaki (smiles). Kaya pala sila mas mabilis magbihis kasi wala silang masyadong inaayos sa sarili nila. Pag lalaki ka, ligo, suot, alis na. Pag babae, ligo, bihis, mag-aayos, magme-makeup, magsusuklay, parang ang daming ginagawa. Parang dito makikita ang difference ng lalaki at babae.”
Rod: what is your expectation now that you will replace the top rated series “Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin?”
Kim: hinihiling ko na lang sa mga fans n asana suportahan nila itong My Binondo Girl gaya ng pagsuporta nila sa mga dati kong naging projects.”
The Story is about Jade. She will stop at nothing to win her father’s heart, even if it means changing her identity as Jade to pretend to be a man under the guise of “Yuan”.
Jolo revilla, Xian Lim and Matteo Gudecelli are the promising actors, who will make a primetime comeback with Kim Chiu on “My Binondo Girl.”
They will give life to the following characters, Onyx (Jolo revilla), Jade’s childhood friend and Best Friend, Andy Wu (Xian Lim), Yuan’s rival in managing CheanJean, and Trevor Wu (Matteo Gudecelli), the second son of Edison wu (Ricardo Cepeda) who is always being compared to his brother, Andy.
“My Binondo Girl” will also feature osme of the most renowned artists of this country such as Cherriy Pie Picache who will give life to Jean Sy, Zheny’s former bestfriend who is now Chen Sy’s legal wife, Laureen Uy as Amethyst Sy, daughter of Jean and Chen Sy who is also seeking her father’s affection, and Glydel Mercado as Ningning Wu, Zheny and Jean’s friend who is married to Chinese businessman, Edison Wu.
