The long wait is over. Finally, ABSCBN Launches ABS-CBN TVPLus, the newest and biggest innovation that will transform our TV viewing. ABSCBN TVPlus which promises clear picture and sound and will offer free exclusive channels on top of all of the free-to-air channels available via digital transmissions.
ABS-CBN TVPlus, or popularly known as the “Mahiwagang Blackbox“. It was Ted Failon who introduced it publicly but just a prize for the daily radio show. The network dubbed this launch as the mahiwagang pagbabago.

The Mahiwagang blackbox or ABSCBN TVPlus, is like a digibox from your local cable provider. But the catch here is that there is no monthly fee for this. It is just a simple plug and play. ABSCBN TVPlus offers a more enjoyable TV Watching experience for the whole family and includes four more exclusive free-to-air channels upon purchase. These are CineMO, the first ever all-day movie channel on free digital TV; Channel YEY where kids can tune to an all day movie channel free digital TV; Knowledge Channel and my favorite DZMM TeleRadyo.

The TVPlus is good for only one (1) TV Set. Regarding services, if you’re experiencing technical difficulties you can text 23661 or if it turns out there is a defect on the box and it is under warranty, you can bring it to authorized Sony (Solid Service ) centers.
So far, only ABSCBN Channel 2 has a digital version of the UHF channels, GMA7 is on their test broadcast. As long as the local channels invest on digital broadcasting, it will also be picked up at the TVPlus box.
Roll out will be finished by the end of the year.
Sarah Geronimo is the endorser of the Digital TVPlus. ABSCBN believes that Sarah Geronimo is the best artist to represent the product. Whatever channels having digital broadcast, the signal will automatically be picked up by the digital box.
It will be available initially at the ABS-CBN Store, ABSCBNmobile Store, SM Appliance Centers, 2Go Express, Solid Service Center (Sony authorized Service Channel), Villman, Silicon Valley and other electronic, appliance and hardward store.

my 7 pieces ako na binili from abs-cbn maayos nman yung paguusap namin ng agent marami syang sinabi para maengganyo kami bumili.pero nung dineliver na sa bahay yung napagusapan nmin hindi nangyari.usapan namin na ung bagong box na ang ide2liver version 2.then when i try it na sa bahay yung 1st box palang wala ng masagap na signal then i tried to call the hotline ung CP # wala nmang sumasagot.then yung phone # naman may sumagot naman kaso lang 1 hour na kaming nagusap w/c is CP ung gamit ko pero wala pa ding nangyari lumaki lang ang bill ko sa CP ko.up to now di ko pa din nagagamit,and yun nga palang mga agent na tinatawagan ko hindi sila pare-pareho ng sinasabi..kakaasar lang minsan kausap..
bumili ako nito sa ikinabit sa tarlac. yung 6 na abs cbn bundled channels lang nakuha ko. wala ako nakuha iba pang free tv channels. nung magtanong ako sa customer service nila, tsaka lang daw makukuha iba pang free tv channels kapag nag-broadcast na rin sila ng digital signals sa tarlac. nang itanong ko kung kelan talaga mamakuha ng iba pang free tv channels wala naman silang maisagot.
di naman sulit na magbayad ng 2500 para lang makapanoond ng abs cbn channels. yung mga movies sa cinemo parang mga movies na di kumita sa takilya at sobrang paulit-ulit. yung pambata at iba pang channels di rin ganon kagaganda.
kaya pala mahiwagang blackbox ang tawag kasi mahiwaga din ang serbisyo.

As far as I know, only the networks with digital broadcasting can be retrieved by the mahiwagang blackbox. That is publicly announced. The blackbox didnt promise other channels but only the bundled ones. IF you want to access other channels, you can switch to analog again and switch back to TVPlus if you want to experience digital broadcast again. Thank you for visiting!

i am not an expert in english but that sentence, i believe, tends to fool the people. it doesn’t clear state that you will only receive other free tv channels when their digital signal from their towers are already available. the word “via digital transmission” may be interpreted as the manner of processing the programs or the digital video format of the channels.
in my case, i was able to return the box and get my money back after i threatened to elevate the problem to dti.
like Fred Abad, i am not willing to be fooled and pay P2500 for 6 lousy channels.

maganda yung commercial,sabi lilinaw ang tv, which is true, may libre channel, yes merun nga. Pero dapat iniinform nyu rin ang customer na di lahat ng channel makukuha, at yung mga palabas eh mga luma, tama lang maging libre yung palabas kasi mga luma naman. Tapus ang dalas nagbuffer ang mga channel at nawawalan ng signal. For abs cbn dapat you should be specific sa binebenta nyung magicbox na di naman magic. 2500 is not a single cents lang, to avail yor products dapat good quality. I suggest not to buy this time to all possible customer na interesado, wait nyu muna maging stable yung “magic box” na sinasabi nila. Sayang ang pera not worth it to buy.

i have the same sentiment about this product. pwede mo naman ibalik yang box na yan para mabawi mo pera mo. kasi ako naibali ko yung box kasi nga abs cbn channels nakukuha nya sa lugar namin.
tama ka rin na walang kwenta ang produktong ito.
Maganda ung magagawa nitong black box. Ung fact na lilinaw ung tv mo tas may free channels pa. Ung mga palaging babad sa tv matutuwa dito. idadagdag ko ito sa shopping list ko for this summer lalo na’t walang pasok palagi lang ako sa bahay.
I bought an abs cbn tv plus last sunday ang sabi kc lilinaw ang panonood ng tv nyo. Pero sa tingin ko depende rin sa tv, nung nkita ko sya nkakabit sa CRT TV ang linaw nya pero nung ikinabit sa Flat Screen hindi sya malinaw pixelated ung picture para kng nanood ng pirated DVD tapos ang daming channel na hindi nakukuha samantalang ang taas ng lugar namin sa Antipolo City. Ung tower ng Solar channels katabi lng namin tsaka digital na rin ang broadcast nila bakit hindi makuha. Sayang lng ang 2,500 ko.
Why don’t i have GMA 7 when i installed this black box??? And that was the sole reason i bought it!!! So frustrating! When using an antenna, i atleast have a signal! Not that clear but i have channel 7!!!! Is there anything i can do about this?
Hi Dorothea, Blackbox is just a transmitter of channels with digital broadcast. GMA-7 still testing it. Depends on your area, some of the buyers of Mahiwagang blackbox get to watch GMA-7.
