(LIFESTYLE) My Dinner In The Sky Experience Overlooking Solaire & Manila Skyline!

I welcome April with a new adventure, another first and an item off my bucket list. I was able to experience Dinner In The Sky (DITS), a Belgium-based novelty dining service for thrill seekers at the Solaire Resorts and Casino. We all know that Filipinos and foreign tourists are mixed of adventurous individuals who dare to try something new and this is something for the books. Actually, I have seen this kind of experience before and at first I thought that I will never get the chance to experience this unless I’m gonna have to travel elsewhere where this service is available.

Thanks to MMI Live and DITS Asia for co-organizing this thrilling culinary adventure. The party offers exquisite world-class cuisine prepared by three of Solaire Resort and Casino’s chefs, followed by Chef Kenneth Cacho, Director for Culinary Arts of the International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management (ISCAHM) and Michelin-star Chef Yves Mattagne of Sea Grill in Brussels, Belgium.

My dinner schedule is at 7pm but I decided to come early because it requires you to be an hour ahead of your schedule. When I get there, I went to the registration and sign the necessary forms and stuff. The DITS staff will welcome us at the VIP Lounge where you can chill while waiting for your turn.

Since I arrived early, I was able to catch some few friends during the first batch for the day. The first batch is at 5.30PM where the target view is the overwhelming sunset of Manila.

After awhile, I went back to the lounge and had some few white wines with friends.

When it was our time to go, they organized us based on our seat numbers. Since some of us have bags and other items, we deposited it to the designated lockers on the side, and proceeded to our queue. I also made sure that I did my bathroom call because it will be an hour dinner up above.

Truth is, I didn’t feel the pressure when they’re lifting us from the area. It is only when I look around and noticed that we are already above the  Solaire Ground. It was an amazing feeling to be honest! OH by the way, there is no glass floor above, only foot rest and I decided to hang my legs in the air haha!

“The Philippines is ripe for the picking – to be a stop for a unique, world-class dining experience such as Dinner in the Sky.” Rhiza Pascua, CEO of MMI Live says. It’s about time that Filipinos experience the best in the world in our own shores, for the Philippines to become a destination for culinary adventures and one-of-a-kind experiences. We deserve it.”

Here I am with Kerwin King, with a combo of happy yet nervous face.

Dinner In The Sky can sit a maximum of 22 people per session. The dining experience in the sky will take one hour. The table is built in Belgium and all drawings, calculations and simulations are tested by TÜV Rhineland, a globalprovider of technical, safety, and certification services.

Chef Hylton Le Roux of Waterside at Solaire Resort was able to tell us the inspiration of the meal.

On my side is @TheFoodieStation holding her phone tightly while sharing the experience to her loveones.

Here are the mouth watering 4-course meal we had, first one is Tuna Tiradito, aji Amarillo paste, lime pickled red radish, cassava crunch.

The next one was Anticuchos de pollo, tamarind habanero glaze, mojo verde, baby beetroot, crispy cancha corn.

Below is the main course, Cuban-style slow cooked pork belly, Mojo sauce, agave roast baby carrots, spicy re-fried beans.

For the dessert, Chef instructed us to make our own with the following: Dulce de leche cheesecake dome,  praline, chocolate texture.

And this is my attempt to be creative.

After an hour and that sumptuous meal above, I was able to get to know Chef Hylton Le Roux of Waterside at Solaire Resort and shared how wonderful the experience was. Oh by the way the food is really nice!

The sky dining experience, which has earned for itself a spot on Forbes Magazine’s list of the world’s Top 10 Most Unusual Restaurants, brings gourmands to literal culinary heights as it hoists its table, and waitstaff 150 feet into the air, giving them an amazing bird’s-eye view of a city or a country.

Dinner In The Sky is packaged from PHP 9,990.00 that includes a four-course exclusive dinner, a perfect view of Manila, and a once-in-a-lifetime experience worth going for. For more information on booking procedures about Dinner in the Sky Philippines, visit www.dinnerinthesky.ph.
