If there’s some good news that happened amidst the increasing number of COVID-19 cases this week, that is the announcement of various TV networks of inspiring television series this month. One of them is TV5’s first teleserye with the Primetime TV Majesty, Maja Salvador entitled Niña Niño along with Noel Comia Jr.
”Niña Niño is Maja Salvador’s first-ever teleserye on TV5. After doing a noontime variety show under Brightlight Production, Maja Salvador is going back to primetime. Produced by Cignal Entertainment and line-produced by CS Studios and Spring Films, ”Niña Niño” is set to air as one of the new anchor shows of TV5’s revitalized primetime block, TodoMax Primetime Singko.
Synopsis
Maja plays the lead role of Niña, the older half of the sibling duo in the eponymous feel-good drama-comedy. 2017 Cinemalaya Best Actor Noel Comia Jr., plays her younger brother Niño who ventures out to the big city with her and discovers that life is anything but a bed of roses.
In order to survive, they turn to extraordinary measures to make ends meet as con-artists who scam their way to earn an extra buck. An event will upend their lives and change the course of their destinies forever. Each episode weaves heartwarming anecdotes that emphasize the show’s inspirational trope: discovering oneself, adapting to the changes, and coming better and stronger after every struggle.
I’m gonna have to admit I miss seeing Maja Salvador portraying major roles in Primetime. Glad you are back Maja as the title role and looking forward to catch the 2017 Cinemalaya Best Actor Noel Comia working with the Primetime Majesty.
Also in the series is Empoy Marquez, Lilet Esteban, Ruby Ruiz, up-and-coming actors Ian Pangilinan, Sachzna, Junyka Santarin, Arron Villaflor, Moi Bien, and Dudz Teraña.
During the virtual media conference held today March 24, 2021, Maja Salvador shares how happy she is in this new endeavor with TV5 and looking forward to the success of Nina Nino as she finally returns to Primetime Television. She also shares how welcoming the network to the entire team. As of late, Maja Salvador reveals she’s now managed by her own talent agency, Crown Artist Management.
Catch Maja Salvador as Niña and Noel Comia Jr as Niño on TV 5 starting April 5, 7:15 PM Mondays to Fridays, after Sing Galing and right before FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. Ultimately, Niño and Niña make us realize the true meaning of healing, forgiveness, and finding freedom in an unlikely place. At the helm of the series is award-winning director Thop Nazareno.
