After the success of the Turkish rom-com series “Everywhere I Go” which premiered in September, ETC Channel is proud to bing another captivating Turkish drama series.
Airing beginning October 17 is the sensational “Endless Love” which won Best Telenovela in the 45th International Emmy Awards. Known as “Kara Sevda” in its home country, the series—or dizi as they are called in Turkey—is about a rich girl and a poor boy whose love transcends their differences and the challenges that befall them.
After a high-rating telecast in Turkey, the acclaimed drama was aired in more than 60 countries and translated into several languages including Italian, Persian, Spanish and Arabic and now, Filipino, as ETC is also presenting “Endless Love” in Tagalized format for their ETCerye evening primetime block.
The series follows the main characters Nihan and Kemal from their teenage years to adulthood. The couple’s blossoming romance is halted when a family problem leaves Nihan choosing her family over love. Kemal leaves the seaside town to work in the mining industry and Nihan marries the wealthy Emir. When Kemal becomes successful in his career and improves his social status, a mining accident forces him to return to his hometown and deal with the unrequited feelings he left behind.
In the cast are Turkey’s biggest stars. Neslihan Atagül, who plays Nihan, is an award-winning TV and film actress; her leading man Burak Özçivit, who portrays Kemal, is an actor-model and a certified international heartthrob. The two have legions of fans all over world. Neslihan counts 10.6 million followers on Instagram; whereas Burak has 15.8 million followers on the same social media platform. Completing the love triangle is Kaan Urgancioğlu who plays Emir.
Aside from the International Emmy, “Endless Love” is also the recipient of Best TV Series and Best Supporting Actor from the Kemal Sunal Culture and Art Awards (an award-giving body named after one of Turkey’s most beloved actors), as well as Special Jury Prize, Best Actress and Best Drama Series accolades from the Seoul International Drama Awards.
Experience world-class drama when “Endless Love” airs on ETC Channel’s ETCerye block. Its three-episode premiere is on October 17, Saturday at 8 pm; regular airing from Monday to Friday at 8:30 pm begins on October 19. Meantime, the time slot of “Everywhere I Go” is moved to 7:30 pm for a back-to-back Turkish drama-fest.
