(TV) Who Won the Ratings Game between IDOL Philippines and Starstruck Returns?

It seems like the return of Starstruck, one of the biggest reality shows in Philippine TV back in the days are not pairing well with the ratings game. After GMA Network moved its weekend prime time show “Studio 7” to a later time slot on Saturday, Starstruck hold its pilot episode to compete with the weekender reality show of ABSCBN, Search For The Idol Philippines.

Last June 15, Starstruck made a grand comeback with ultimate Female Survivor Jennylyn Mercado and Dingdong Dantes as its hosts. They also introduced new council namely Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista, the One and Only Cherrie Gil and Kapuso comedy actor JoseManalo.

The Search for the Idol Philippines came strong during its premiere last April 21. Evidently, more households nationwide tuned it to the show’s and scored a national TV rating of 30.6%, compared to “Studio 7” that only registered 13.2%, according to data from Kantar Media.
