(TV) Channel M To Air 42 Wonderful Episode of Hit Korean Drama Series, “REPLY 1994”

The year 2014 starts with a bang for Channel M as it premieres the highly successful Korean drama series Reply 1994 in the first month of another exciting year of quality programming. Starting January 6, 2014, Reply 1994 will be shown Mondays to Thursdays at 10 PM and chronicle the lives of its characters as college students in 1994 and adults in 2013.

Reply 1994 is the second season of the Reply series and promises an entirely new cast and storylines that fans of this first season are sure to love. The drama garnered an 11.8% viewership rating for its final episode, the highest for a drama on Korean cable TV, and consistently scored high with viewers throughout its run.

The series centers on six students from provinces around Korea who come to attend university and live together at a boarding house in Seoul run by a couple and their daughter Na-jung in the year 1994. The show does well in catching the spirit of the youth in 1994, portraying pop culture phenomena from that time such as the craze over college basketball and Korea’s first ever hiphop artists.

Through 42 episodes, Reply 1994 will show how these six students from differing backgrounds form true friendships and navigate the pathways of young love at a particular time in Korea’s youth culture. The series also jumps forward in time to show the characters as adults in 2013, and tease viewers about the future of their relationships.

Starring Ko Ah Ra, Jung Woo, Yoo Yeon Suk, B1A4’s Baro, and Tiny-G Doo Hee, Reply 1994 topped online search rankings for Korean programs in 2013, according to a report by Korea Star Daily. The show was created by Lee Woo-jung Shin Won-ho, the creators of Reply 1997, which was the well-loved first season of the Reply series that tackled pop culture events in the year 1997.

Catch Reply 1994 weekly from Monday to Thursday at 10 PM only on Channel M! Channel M is seen on Sky Cable Ch145, Destiny Ch145, Cable Link Ch222 and Cignal Ch81
