I just left a very rewarding event at during the culmination event held just now at the Sunset Pavilion of Sofitel Hotel.
Its the Awarding of the very FIRST Jollibee Drive-Thru Cross Country Challenge Grand Winner and it was indeed memorable since I have been following this special event made by Jollibee since the beginning. Happy to know that my bet among the challengers, Loyal Allies Niño Duran and Anthony Gaas of Team 1 were hailed as the first ever Jollibee Drive-Thru Cross Country Challenge winners.
Besting nine other teams, Duran and Gaas received P1 million in cash (tax-free) and became the proud owners of two brand new Ford Fiesta 1.4L AT Hatchbacks courtesy of Ford Group Philippines. The pair from Cagayan de Oro accumulated the highest number of points during the action-packed 10-day challenge, scoring a total of 3,126 out of the possible 4,140 points.
Best buddies Paul Jake Castillo and Jan Señerpida (Team 7) came at second place with 3,039 points and received P100,000 in cash. Coming in at third place, Party Pals Francis Lim and Joaquin Puyat (Team 4) scored 3,029 and won a cash prize of P50,000. Love Partners in Crime Jon Hall and Maria Persson (Team 9) placed fourth with 2,979 points, winning P10,000 worth of Jollibee gift certificates. Each member of these three teams also received a Samsung Galaxy Note as a special prize.
The other participating teams who took on the first Jollibee Drive-Thru Cross Country Challenge were: Kings of the Road Ulysses Ang and Neil Pagulayan, Magnetic Opposites Robert Real and Quinito Villarosa, The Ultrarunners Michelle Estuar and Prince Baltazar, Witty and Wacky DJ Duo Andre Co and Cerah Hernandez, Partners for Life
JM Oloris and Irene Oloris, and Euro-Pinoy Models Charlie Sutcliffe and
Angelo Cacciatore. Each of these teams received P10,000 worth of Jollibee gift certificates.
The Philippines’ favorite fast-food chain brought these teams on the ultimate road trip adventure across the country for 10 days. Driving their Ford Fiesta Sport Plus 1.6L PowerShift AT Hatchback, the teams earned points by covering as many of the 171 Jollibee Drive-Thru stores as they could and accomplishing exciting tasks and challenges in identified tourist destinations. These included working as Jollibee crew members, manning the drive-thru window during the graveyard shift and serving the customers.
The challenge also brought the teams to the Philippines’ most scenic sights, from the historic cobblestone streets of Vigan in Ilocos Sur, Magellan’s Cross in Cebu, and San Juanico Bridge in Leyte, to breathtaking natural wonders such as the beaches of Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte, Pagsanjan Falls in Laguna, and Mayon Volcano in Albay. In addition, the duos were made to accomplish exciting tasks such as wakeboarding at the CamSur Watersports Complex in Camarines Sur and Asia’s longest dual zipline at the Dahilayan Adventure Park in Bukidnon.
The teams also built model houses for Gawad Kalinga in Iligan and for completing the task, P30,000 was donated to the victims of natural calamities.
“Apart from showcasing our widest network of 171 drive-thru stores nationwide, the Jollibee Drive-Thru Cross-Country Challenge also highlighted our fast and reliable service that is made even better by our ‘alagang Pinoy’ attitude,” said Manjie Yap, Vice President and National Business Channels head.
The Jollibee Drive-Thru Cross Country Challenge was made possible in partnership with Ford Group Philippines, with the support of Bratpack and Jansport, its official outfitter, and Samsung Galaxy Note, the official mobile device.
