Jodi Sta. Maria holds H2H campaign for Robredo, Pangilinan and Diokno

Believing this is not the time to be silent, actress Jodi Sta. Maria on Tuesday decided to leave the comfort of her home and perform a house-to-house campaign for the three candidates she believes in.

Together with fellow volunteers, Jodi went around Barangay Tumana in Marikina City to campaign for Vice President Leni Robredo, Senator Kiko Pangilinan and human rights lawyer Chel Diokno, who are running for president, vice president and senator, respectively.

“This is what I stand for and many have known me to be, you know, just quiet about certain things and I believe this is not the time to be quiet about what you stand for,” she said.

That’s also the reason why I went out there to show people kung sino iyong mga tao na sa puso ko ang magbibigay sa atin ng pag-asa. Kumbaga, there’s hope in pink,” she added.

Jodi emphasized that she’s not doing this for herself but for every Filipino and for the Philippines.

“Kung ito ang magiging contribution ko, then I’m very much willing na suungin iyong init, iyong pagod, etong mga bagay na ginawa, para sa Pilipinas,” she said.

When asked why she opted to support them, Jodi said her core values strongly resonate with the three candidates.

“Ako kasi naniniwala ako na you are who you vote for and sila iyong mga tao na nagre-resonate doon sa mga core values na naka-importante sa akin bilang tao,” Jodi explained.

“Importante sa akin ang pagiging matapat, importante sa akin ang pagiging hardworking, importante sa akin ang transparency and accountability and sa kanila ko nakikita iyong mga katangian na pinapahalagahan ko sa aking buhay. Kaya sila dapat,” she added.

Talking about her campaign experience, Jodi said she’s grateful for the warm welcome from residents of Barangay Tumana.

“Nakakatuwa kasi napakainit ng pagtanggap ng mga tao sa Barangay Tumana. I would say na hindi naman sila naging mga suplado or hindi kami napansin pero they’re very open, they’re very open to listen to what we have to say,” she said.

Jodi recently expressed support for Atty. Chel via a social media post.
