HUAWEI nova 9 SE 108MP Review, Value for Money Smartphone

In the last two years I was amazed by how smartphones evolved from being an alternative camera replacement of SLRs. Not to mention its speed for charging. The consumers are spoiled by how new smartphone releases fit to our needs. For instance, as a content creator, I rely heavily on my phone to take photos and videos for my content stories. This is why today, a great pleasure to share my experience to newly released mid range smartphone perfect for photography and vlogging. I’m talking about the Huawei nova 9 SE.

It has always been music to my ears everytime there’s camera upgrade from the previous smartphone release. For Huawei nova 9 SE, it prides itself with a powerful 108MP AI Quad camera. But before I get to that details, let me show you how beautiful the design and display is.

The Huawei nova 9 SE comes with a 3D rear glass cover. This one is crystal blue but there are two other colors for this release, the pearl white and the midnight black. I used to love darker design but this one is charming because of its reflective rays when being expose to lights.

I like it glossy but sometimes fingerprints became an issue for me but nevertheless, it is crafted from 3D glass, a crystal clear texture. Ive heard that among the colors, this one is uniquely coated with dual plating nano texture. And look at that camera looking PRO all the way!

In terms of its size, it has 6.78” HUAWEI FullView Display screen and you can maximize them because of its 1.05mm ultra-narrow bezel.

The unit has a 7.94mm ultra-thin design. I like how the button is almost at the middle. No need to reposition the phone on your hand to reach it.

Over the week the focus of my review was to really test its camera feature so I found myself looking around the garden to test the 108MP AI Quad Camera.

Composition

108MP AI Quad Camera / 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens /  2MP Bokeh lens, and a macro lens. I observe that the photos during daytime helped me to see how clear that shots are. Everything is sharp and edgy and I’m not even using the macro feature. This one for instance. It is not too saturated but enough to capture what I need.

Similar to this one I shot outside, the details are in the photo. There’s a little waiting time before you can move your position, a somehow a holdup to sharpen the image that you have to hold still otherwise its not gonna give you your desired output. This shot I was focusing on the drops. Very detailed.

Here’s another one. Somehow I wish they push the saturation. The photo is hi-res so there’s room for your additional edit if you want to.

Tried the normal shots as well that is dimmer and I think I like how vibrant it is. at some point I noticed high contract particularly on the photo below but personally I like it.

So ofcourse I tried one of its impressive features the SUPER NIGHTSCAPES and Dark Light portrait. Here are some of the comparison taken from the usual photo and nightscapes. This one I took using the normal shot.

And then this one using the nightscape. It gives more detail on the darker side which makes the photo more sharp. It was able to capture the entire story. Very vibrant. My only issue is that it doesn’t give me my preferred quality when I zoom it but nevertheless this 800 x 560 shots are well lit.

Here’s another example / comparison.

I get to test its video as well though I wasn’t to show you here. My take is that I am impressed with its continuous Front/Rear Recording AKA the Dual-View Video because this is very useful when covering an event or especially if you are hosting a stream with an audience that you need to take the video as well. It is indeed a great super vlog experience!

Also I am solve with its 16MP front camera. I don’t take selfie that much LOL. But 16MP is a good one.

Battery and Charging.

Huawei nova 9 SE being the ultimate vlogging smartphone for the young at hearts might consume a lot of energy from nonstop videos and photos. Good thing it has a large battery, 4000 mAH and equipped with the 66W HUAWEI Super Charge!

With its 66W super charge, you can get as much as 50% battery full in 10 mins and fully charged phone within 36 minutes! Okay you got my attention!
