There’s no stopping for TV5 as they continue to announce new programs this first quarter of the year. Today, TV5 announces a series starring Cristine Reyes & Diego Loyzaga to play in the roles of the hit Korean series Encounter. Yes you heard it right, Encounter gets a Filipino treatment in TV5 and Sari Sari Channel, together with Viva Entertainment’s newest drama — pushing the boundaries for chances at true happiness and genuine connections.
Coincidentally, I just started watching ENCOUNTER starring Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum and so far I am glued at its pilot episode.
Directed by Jeffrey Jeturian, Encounter also went into some struggles in making the series particularly with the limited choices of location and travel restrictions, but Direk mentioned that the sunset scene is very important that’s why they insist to shoot that scene at the heart of Ilocos Norte, where beautiful sun sets.
ENCOUNTER SYNOPSIS
Cristine Reyes plays the role of Selene, CEO of Hotel d’ Trevi Hotel, and a daughter of a prominent politician who was forced to marry the son of a business tycoon but eventually gets divorced. Diego Loyzaga, plays Gino, a young and free-spirited random stranger who on a chanced encounter falls in love with Selena. Being in a relationship for these two characters will not be an easy feat with the peril of public scandals and Selene’s forfeiture of her conjugal share.
With Cristine and Diego playing the roles, I am sure Encounter will be an interesting adaptation and I’m totally not complaining given how Diego and Cristine resonate with how I perceived Park Bo Gum & Song Hye Kyo. Also, who would resist the appeal of Cristine and Diego at this point?
The show will also feature cast members Kean Cipriano, Robert Seña, Maricel Morales, Yayo Aguila, Louise delos Reyes, Gardo Versoza, Isay Alvarez, and more. Catch Encounter every Saturday at 8PM on TV5. Catch-up episodes will also air every Sunday, 9PM starting March 21 on Sari Sari Cignal TV CH. 3 and SatLite CH. 30.
