I was happy to see Yeng Constantino again after a long time. If I remember it right, the last time I got the chance to talk to her was during the Academy of Rock opening last OMG, 2013? Yesterday, she met with the entertainment press along with Joem Bascon to share how excited they were for their upcoming film, “Write About Love.”
Produced by TBA Studios, the film Write About Love revolves around two writers (Miles Ocampo, Rocco Nacino) creating a wonderful story together for the first time. As the two writers slowly begin to set aside their differences, the writing process leads them to a fulfilling path of self-discovery. In the movie, Yeng and Joem portrays the character behind the story that these writers are working on.
When asked about how excited she is for the movie as part of the MMFF entries, she shares that she is equally excited and nervous at the same time. “Laban lang kahit minsan feeling mo ay pader ‘yung babanggain mo, suong lang ng suong. Maganda po talaga ‘yung story ng pelikula. I think ito po ay unique. Sa generation ngayon, ‘yung mga kabataan lalong-lalo na gustong-gusto nila nang kakaibang istorya. This is something that they would want to watch,” says Yeng.
Of course we tease her if she is expecting to be awarded for her performance, which I agree i worth noting! “Aba ay sana po. Hindi naman po ako magde-deny na dini-desire ko po. Maganda po ‘yon sa portfolio ko kumbaga bilang isang artist. Hindi lang bilang mang-aawit pero sa pag-grow ko as an artist sa ibang larangan. So hopefully po.” She ended.
Joem Bascon on the other hand similarly shared his excitement for Write About Love. “I’m looking forwad to this coming MMFF for ‘Write About Love’ na mapapanood niyo ‘yung pinaghirapan namin ng TBA Studios. Siyempre nagkagulatan kami na napili for MMFF ang ‘Write About Love.’ Natapos na namin ito parang start pa lang of the year, tapos pinasa na lang nila. We are just really excited and honored to be part of this MMFF,”
This is Joem Bascon’s first time to work with Yeng Constantino. He mentioned that this film is special because among all of the projects he did, this is the first time he did a love story with a partner.
“I’m happy to be part of a big ensemble, tapos pasok pa sa MMFF,” he added.
Write About Love will show viewers that writing a love story is as personal as it gets. Like Marco who becomes a total wreck when Joyce chooses her career, a parallel story in real time will show Female Writer getting hurt when Male Writer suddenly leaves her in the middle of an immersion trip just when things are beginning to click for both of them. Joem and Yeng will make sure you are in for a treat this Christmas.

Write About Love is the official entry to the MMFF 2019 by TBA Studios. It recently received a G rating (suitable for all audiences) from the MTRCB and a B-Grading from the Cinema Evaluation Board.
