(LIFESTYLE) ASUS Holds PixelMaster Photography Masterclass in Boracay!

As Boracay reopened again, a lot of travel enthusiasts did not waste their time but to schedule their trip to one of the most beautiful islands in the world. I have to admit, I got curious on how Boracay transformed into a brand new Island after months of rehabilitating it. So initially, we were planning to book for the Halloween vacation but there was a conflict for another out of town trip.

Good thing we have another scheduled trip to the island. As ASUS Philippines continues to champion mobile photography through its flagship ZenFone products with activities designed to highlight its photographic prowess. We were invited to see Boracay firsthand through their photography workshop sessions, the Pixel Masterclass.

I have been to couple of ASUS junket in the past. Last 2016, I celebrated Sinulog Festival with them in Cebu where we use Asus Zenfone Zoom. Colorful as it is, Zenfone able to capture the hearts of smartphone users when they introduce its innovative 10-element HOYA lens. This time, ASUS brought couple of lifestyle and tech bloggers, as they are dedicated to fulfill the promise to its growing consumers. ASUS saw an opportunity to provide its end-users with a long-term program that will help them maximize their capabilities with the ZenFone 5. That is the start of The PixelMaster MasterClass. To date, ASUS Philippines has conducted over 20 photography junkets and photo walks, all the while highlighting the performance of the ZenFone 5 series, which received a commendation from DXOMark for its great camera performance for a mid-range smartphone.

Fast Forward to Boracay, we found ourselves packing our luggage and head straight to the airport to join the Pixelmaster Master class. My usual bloggie buddy Rodel Flordeliz is equally excited as well.

Of course, my interests was to really attend the photography class from the perspective of eight different photographer.

As a lifestyle blogger, we were able to adopt to the fast pace evolution of social media and I know I have been curating my own Instagram feed but there is really a need to listen to experts when it comes to the rule and standpoint of authorities. I am talking about the PixelMasters which include Travel Photographers Nicco Valenzuela and Arlene Donaire, Street Photographers Jay Ermitano and Jasper Tejano; Portrait photographer Ken Go, Wedding Photographer Emir Bautista,  Conceptual photographer Dail Deri, and Commercial Photographer Ricky Ladia.

It was indeed a very chill trip. After the class we were challenged to of course capture those sceneries using our Zenfone 5. There were various assignments such as Sunset, OOTDs, Beach OOTDs, still life, capturing smiles and even landscape photography. It was really fun doing this with your equally enthusiastic photography friends. ASUS made sure that it was a fun, yet full of learning experience.

Here are some of the shots I took using ASUS Zenfone 5.

And of course, some photos stood out from the rest and I totally agree based on the decision of the pixel masters. These photos captured the very theme of each category.

At night, Boracay is as serene and romantic as it is. OFcourse I miss the party at the beach front, but I think somehow I prefer this view:

The PixelMaster Master Classes don’t stop at just taking great photos of its destinations; recent sessions included a Master Class in Ilo-Ilo in partnership with Operation Smile. And this time, ASUS headed to Boracay not just to take photos, but also help promote sustainable tourism in the island through a mangrove tree-planting activity for the benefit of the local community.

This I can say is one of the highlights of me joining the trip. We were able to participate in an environmental cause which is very beneficial to the island in the coming generation. Last year, I was able to join Globe for the Laboracay and one of the activities is the coral reef planting.
