It’s been awhile since I visited Manila Bay. I remember spending and gracing independence day at Luneta Park but to no avail, I got busy with other stuff so I wasn’t able to see that famous Manila Bay sunset for awhile. But very recently, I was able to grace a very interesting event hosted by Penthouse By The Bay, a new addition and an al fresco dining experience with an overlooking view of Manila Bay. Since this is located at the rooftop of Rizal Park Hotel, we managed to also stay at this century-old property reminiscent of the pre-war colonial period.
Okay let me give you a quick tour of Rizal Park Hotel first. The outside view is outright fascination. It’s like you are entering a mansion full of people waiting for a ballroom day-round to start.
Since this is my first time in the area, I even asked my friend Marj Sia if there’s enough parking, dude it can host enough guests outside!
The interior, as published through various social media posts, is equally beautiful. My first impression and action item when I entered was to take a photo of every corner. It brings me to that place I only see Cinderella dancing.
Even the hall leading to the rooms are Instagrammable!
Our room is also impressive, makes me wanna stay for couple of days, If not only for the work waiting for me LOL.
I arrived early as I anticipated traffic. While waiting for my fellow blogger friends, I entertained myself with the weekend news on print and had a cold shower.
As we are on schedule, We started preparing by 6pm. As I have mentioned, Penthouse By The Bay is a new jewel at the top of 1900’s colonial style building, Rizal Park Hotel. It has an overlooking view of Manila Bay where one can wine and dine in style at their fully-air conditioned posh lounge inspired by the Art Deco period, also known as the Great Gatsby era. Now let me give you a tour of the place.
Penthouse By The Bay is a destination events place that can cater up to a maximum of 500pax (standing) or 270 pax seated. And look at this wonderful view!
By 7pm, guests start to arrive. Since we were ask to dress for the occasion, we pulled our quick version of our Great Gatsby and headed to the Penthouse.
Here I am with fellow blogger friends chatting endlessly. Rodel Flordeliz, Valerie Tan, Genzel Habab and Ruth Dela Cruz.
I asked my fellow blogger friends to take a solo photo of me because I know that when I’m around wonderful crowd and good booze, I will not get a single good photo of me with my sanity so here it goes haha!
I liked how everyone is so game to dress up. Most of our friends brought their own overdue catch up stories so you can imagine the rest of us were so up for the nonstop chat from travels, to fitness up to photography. That is how we managed to forgot the time enjoying what Penthouse served.
One of the highlights of the night is the short wine lesson and we were able to taste some of it (No, all of it!)
One of my favorites is this scotch whisky with a logo of the queen. There were rumors that this whisky is just one of the premium drinks served at the Buckingham palace! So dude, why will you refuse such as treat!
I actually lost count of glass I drank that night.
Wait before I forgot, here are the delicious dishes being offered at Penthouse by the Bay. Chase Yap, Managing Owner of Penthouse made sure that everything serve here are worth every penny.
Quattro Formaggi (P670.00). I had two slices!
Meat Lovers Pizza Bomb(PHP 370)
Penthouse Crab Cake (PHP 470)
I will add more photo of the food as these are all good, perfect for your choice of wines of the Penthouse.
When DJ played those 90s hit, we let our soul lost our way to the dance floor outside!
It was indeed a wonderful night, thanks to Penthouse By The Bay for being such as great host. This is indeed the place to go to celebrate your special life events! Thank you for having us, Penthouse by the Bay! Cheers and congratulations!
