(FOOD) Cozy Dinner in QC? Try Meranti Cafe by Maple at Meranti Hotel

When you find yourself hungry in the city of stars and trying to find a place to dine and experience some cozy night with a glamorous ambiance, I think you are looking for a place exactly similar as Meranti Hotel. Last week I was able to check Meranti Cafe, their own extension and version of Maple Restaurant. It was a pleasant, rainy friday evening with fellow blogger friends and trying to kill time so what we did is try some of their best sellers.

Ive noticed that their lobby is exceptionally modern and beautiful. I got the chance to talk to their resident manager and learned that some furniture are designed by our pride Kenneth Cobonpue. It was a combination of chandeliers and meshed lamps enough for me to stare that long.

Fast forward to what we had, they served Aragula Salad, A fresh mix of rocket aragula, cherry tomatoes and walnuts tossed with a light lemon vinaigrette and topped with poached egg, prosciutto, grana padano shavings and a drizzle of balsamic reduction.

Meranti025    We also has Spaetzle Jambalaya, A fresh spaetzle pasta with Jambalaya sauce, topped with shrimp with chilean mussels.   Meranti024

Below is the Chili Soup, a mild bean, beef and pork chili soup serve with sour cream and a slice of freshly baked jalapeno corn bread.

Meranti011After entree and soup, we tried the famous Prime Rib Tapa, a traditional Filipino breakfast taken to new heights. A marinated prime rib service with garlice rice, two eggs prepared the way you like, sidings of tomato-onion salsa and atchara. I chose well done rib this time.   Meranti020

We didn’t try everything due to limited time and space in our tummy but I’m tellin’ you the above photos are enough to satisfy your cravings in pasta and rib.

After that, we head on to our dessert and we tried their suggestion, the Chocolate Skillet Cookie. a hot fudge cookie dough baked in a skillet topped with maple-glazed pecans and scoop of vanilla ice cream. This is amaazzzing!
