Last week we were able to catch HENERAL LUNA last week in one of the biggest Cinemas of SM Megamall. We bought the last full show to avoid first week of crowded cinema but man! It was a jampacked screening I almost fell holding my large popcorn on my way to my seat!
First, HERE is the TRAILER of JERROLD TAROG’s HENERAL LUNA
Heneral Luna is a period film transpired during the Philippine-American war. There were no Spanish scenes though I think Heneral Luna’s outrage started from the Spaniardz trying to conquer us. During the Aguinaldo regime, Heneral Luna is one of the (the only one?) fighting for patriotism. Even Emilio Aguinaldo himself is having second thoughts whether to accept the offers from America or to proceed with the ongoing war.
OK, I really want to elaborate how beautiful it is but I think a 10/10 review is enough to tell everyone what needs to be seen in theaters. Hurry!
Now, HENERAL LUNA is the official entry to the 2016 OSCARS to compete in the Best Foreign Language Film Category. Wow! What a boost to the effortless promotion for the the film which remains stronger sitting in more than 78 theaters nationwide! This is one of the movies that made an impression and recieved an overwhelming reviews online. OSCARS are scheduled to announce a list of eligible submissions in October 2015. Nine finalists from among the dozens of entries will be shortlisted in mid-December. The final five nominees are scheduled to be announced on 14 January 2016.
This category, Best Foreign Language Film is one of the Academy Awards of Merit, is given to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States of America with a predominantly non-English dialogue track.
GOODLUCK and CONGRATULATIONS!
