(MOVIE REVIEW) She’s Dating The Gangster Will Leave you Breathless Til The end.

Star Cinema finally reaping the full potential of the phenomenal loveteam, most popular, undisputed darlings in prime-time television, the Teen King and Queen Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo. She’s Dating The Gangster is directed by blockbuster director Cathy Garcia-Molina and it is written for the silver screen by Carmi Raymundo, who wrote two of Star Cinema’s most successful films this 2014: Bride For Rent and Starting Over Again.

PLOT: The story revolves around Athena Dizon, a 17-year-old student, and Kenji de los Reyes, a rebellious teenager. They begin a false romance in order to spite Kenji’s ex-girlfriend, and Athena thinks everything will be fine. She slowly realises that her life is not as steady, as her relationship with Kenji inevitably transforms into something greater.

I was able to finish the Wattpad story before its commercial run in theaters. I would say that Star Cinema bravely gambled on putting a slight changes yet sticking to how the story will flow from the fiction story itself. What I liked is how the feelings developed between two characters without being too pushy. Kathryn is real charmer. I can’t help but smile everytime she smiles.

Daniel? While everyone is screaming at the cinema, I was one of the few who silently cheer too! This is simply a movie to watch when you want to fall in love, or to laugh, and to reminisce.

Speaking of reminiscing, Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta managed to give me goosebumps on their special participation in this movie. Their characters in the story simply validated that Daniel and Kathryn’s performance are worth another repeat, another story, another project. Too many kilig scenes from the tandem including that of Richard and Dawn. Oh I miss their tandem and I would like to see them again in big screen. And I have to admit all I know about the movie version will all about kilig but how they tailored the screenplay to make it real, will leave you breathless til the end. And I love reunions. It makes me feel grounded and loved. Glad that this is a part of the story.

One Low: That Kenneth and Kelai rapport is just too fast. But all in all, I was swayed by Kenji and Athena. the real score for me to feel in love again!

I’d like to think that Direk Cathy Garcia always a discoverer of fresh loveteam that a generation will love. Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo not just a revelation but a testament of evolution from a growing loveteam that will last longer than the other. Direk Cathy did it again! From One More chance to John-Lloyd Sarah Trilogy up to Miss you Like Crazy, She’s Dating the Gangster is something to remember.

I like what Daniel said about trying to fall in love, “Tumaya ka lang..”

TOP 5 SCENES that I LIKED!
1. The scene from the stairs where Athena wants to stop and admitted that she started to fall. What Kenji replied will surprise you.
2. Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta scene. That was one of the best slow motion I will remember this year.  I’m near to crying out loud bro!
3. The Basketball and Cheering scene with Kathryn Dancing “Go sexy sexy love!”
4.  Daniel Padilla reading the letters from his dad.
5. The scenery in Mayon Volcano in Albay. What a view!
