(READ) FULL STORY: Frustrated Ping Medina Airs Disgust for Philippine Airline.

An interesting read from my facebook friend, Ping Medina posted on his timeline about his outrage disgust for Philippine Airline.

================================================

So I got screwed up the ass by ‪#‎PAL‬ today.

I admit: it was partly my fault. I came in 5 minutes late for check-in time. My first instinct was to blame our coordinator. He told me it’s okay since Naga airport is “not so strict” when it comes to these things. But of course, whose fucking fault is it but mine? For giving in to complacency? I know right. Jesse Robredo is in the high heavens shaking that saintly head.

Anyway, on to the real fuckers in this situation. I come in five minutes late. They tell me, sir, the plane is already fully booked. What do you mean, fully booked? Maybe there are available seats? I will take any seat. No sir, no more seats available. Flight is overbooked. But… My flight is booked already, how can you be overbooked? So you booked chance passengers? No sir, there are no chance passengers. The flight is overbooked.

Overbooked. No chance passengers.

Let me repeat: OVERBOOKED. NO CHANCE PASSENGERS.

So bottom line: even if I came in 5 hours early, I would’ve saved my own ass, but inevitably someone else’s ass would’ve gotten fucked. Regardless of who was feeling lazier today. What kind of fucked up system is this? So Philippine fucking Airlines, this is ultimately YOUR fault.

But you might say, fuck you Ping Medina. You came in late. You have no right to bitch and moan. But no, fuck you PAL. I made a new friend today in Liza Joy Geron out of this most distasteful situation. And you know what? You shouldn’t be fucking with good citizens like Liza Joy Geron.

She came in EXACTLY 45 minutes before her flight. But PAL staff made some lame excuse that their system had been closed. Sorry PAL, you lose on that technicality. Forty five minutes is forty minutes. She arrived just in the nick of time. But you fucking OVERBOOKED.

Que horror, they were even offering her the option to rebook the next day, which is even more expensive than a new flight. I mean, what the fuck, the poor woman works for World Vision. As she does miraculous everyday things on a basic salary, you’re telling her to cough up EIGHT THOUSAND PESOS MORE for something you PAL guys fucked up? She has an important event tomorrow Sunday morning which you just totally fucked up!

I tried fighting for her to get a full rebooking without extra charges, but to no avail. Staff responds, “we’re just following protocol.” I asked for the manager, who was out on his day-off. Really? On the busiest day of the week? Amid the welling emotions and frustration, we eventually we both gave up, as it became clear we have lost this battle. Which was the time Liza deemed appropriate to ask for a picture with me.

So instead of booking that ridiculous flight the next day, I’m now quietly rebelling on this bus bound for Manila with my friend Liza Joy Geron, typing on my phone with divine guidance as the rain gently trickles down my window. My thoughts wander from the poor PAL employees blindly following orders, those PAL upper management scum who implement such predatory policies, and Bong Revilla.

We may have lost the battle today, but we will win the war.

‪#‎boycottPAL‬ ‪#‎totalban‬ ‪#‎goCebuPac‬

(PS, To be clear: I never book PAL because of the horrendous way they treated their employees who eventually went on strike. This flight was booked by someone else for work I did in the great progressive town of ‪#‎Daet‬.
I dunno if Cebu Pac does the same thing. For now, I find constantly delayed flights much more tolerable.)
