(PEOPLE) Century Superbods Challenge @MauLumba Talks About His Experience in the Competition

After winning the Century Tuna Superbods Superchallenge last month, Maui Lumba is all set to spread his wings in entertainment industry. He learned The Century Superbods Challenge since the time of Derek Ramsey back in 2012. When I asked if was there a part in the pageant where he got nervous, he said it’s the Question and Answer portion. For those who missed it, the question thrown at him was from the media on the crowd, it was about handling social media bashing and he answered it flawlessly that night.
Joining Maui as winner is Sara Polverini. They took home P500,000, a year of Gold’s Gym subscription, a one year supply of Century Tuna, and other fabulous prizes. Maui also bagged the People’s Choice Special Award.

I was actually there to cover it and literally saw Mauro Lumba’s dream came true with Sara!

Maui enthuses, “I’m so honored to be chosen as the winner of Century Tuna Superbods 2014. I’m so happy na nagbunga lahat ng mga pinaghirapan ko during the competition. If you look at the finalists, lahat sila deserving manalo.” What’s the secret to his fit and buff body? He reveals, “Dedication and discipline. I live a healthy lifestyle by going to the gym regularly, sleeping at least eight hours a day, and eating the right kinds of food. Of course, what a better way to get a healthy body than to eat Century Tuna!”

Who could have won?
“If I’m not the winner, I think Miguel for me should win. I saw the transformation in him.”

What is your strict diet?
Lean diet /Protein and fruits. NO salt.Though hindi ko naman binigla, but discipline lang talaga”

Maui is a Hotel and Restaurant Management graduate from University of Santo Tomas. Tall and moreno with attractive eyes, Maui is also a basketball player. As a model, Maui was frequently asked to grace special events in UST like the USTV awards where he helped hand out trophies to the winners. It was at that event that he was presented with the golden opportunity to join showbiz and become a member of NYOBG, Backroom’s newest league of artists.

Well, Mau has a blood for runway, he actually inherited it from his father during the time when Edu Manzano and Christopher de Leon were Adonis of the industry. He mentioned that he wants to hone his acting talent by joining future workshops.

What changed after winning the title?
“ For me it made me a better person. Kase the competition is not about the money, di naman ako mababago ng money. it made me experience things. Hindi maeexperience ng ibang tao. And happy ako sa mga blessings na dumarating sa kin.”
