Putting an end to rumors of a network transfer, Primetime Queen Marian Rivera officially renewed her contract with broadcasting giant, GMA Network, the actress’ home studio since her debut in showbiz in 2005.
Under the contract, Marian will remain an exclusive star of the Kapuso network for three more years.
The signing was held Saturday morning (August 10) at the Manila Golf and Country Club in Forbes Park, Makati.
Also present were GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., EVP and CFO Felipe S. Yalong, GMA Films President Atty. Annette Gozon-Abrogar, Entertainment TV Group OIC Lilybeth G. Rasonable, Entertainment TV Vice Presidents Marivin Arayata and Redgie Magno and AVP for Alternative Productions Gigi S. Lara.
Although Marian did not disclose the details of her contract and her upcoming shows with GMA, she said that she is definitely going to have a primetime series this year.
The actress admitted that there was an offer from another network but she decided to remain a Kapuso because there is no reason for her to leave GMA.
“Ever since naman hindi ako pinabayaan ng GMA e. Damang dama ko ang pagmamahal ng GMA sa akin at ako naman ay tumatanaw ng utang na loob,” shared the actress in an interview after the contract signing.
Marian and her boyfriend actor Dingdong Dantes will be flying out of the country to celebrate Marian’s birthday on August 12. The actress said that she has no knowledge about the details of the trip except that Dingdong asked her to bring a swimsuit and a formal dress.
