As promised, I was able to talk to Sarah G yesterday July 28 at Marquee Mall, Pampanga after her performance onstage. The event was made possible by Jollibee as a treat to customers who continue to make Chickenjoy their ultimate bonding meal with loved ones. Jollibee brought together families for a special date with their two all-time favorites during the “Best Family Bonding Date with Sarah G.”
The last time I saw Sarah G was at The Voice PH Presscon on ABSCBN where they were introduced as COACHES together with Lea, APL and Bamboo. I am surprised (not actually) that she blooms from that time! I mean she sounds more assured of herself. With the way she dances, performs, everything. Something turned extra extra ordinary in her. And she lost weight. I like it!
So while everyone in the crowd are waiting for their meet and greet, I was instructed to go onstage as the mini presscon is aobut to start. But it seems no one wants to strike a question so it looked like we will just talk until I say I’m done (LOL).
Rod: You’re so busy right now, how do you find time to bonding with your family?
Sarah: Alam mo yung paggising mo pa lang sa umaga sila ung hinahanap mo. Minsan or madalas wala na sila trabaho. May business kase kami. So pero every Sunday ayan. Sunday, family day, halimbawa after ng asap. Ngyon medyo free Sunday ko mas nakakalabas kami. Nakakapnood kami ng movie. Importante tlga para sa kin ung Sunday.
What do you want to buy as a birthday gift for yourself?
So travel lang tlga.
How close are you with your sisters?
Unfortunately ung isa kong kapatid nasa ibang bansa sya. Ayun constant naman yung communication. Yung panganay kong kapatid. Sya yung talagang, Magmula non sya tlga. PEro lahat naman sila. Close naman kmi lahat.
Rod: How do you spend your free time?
Sarah: Pag may free time ako. Wala ano lang ako eh .homebuddy lang ako e. Natutulog lang. Kumakain. mas gusto ko ngayon, or goal ko ngayon na makapagtugtog ng mga instrumento.
Rod: Learning so far from The Voice as a Coach.
Sarah: Alam mo napakarami. Especially I also learned from my team members. Grabe sila lahat sila marunong tumugtog ng gitara, marunong sila magpiano, nagsusulat ng kanta. So itong experience ko, as a mentor napakahirap, naisstress ako at times pero sobrang dami kong natutunan. And Ive learned a lot ito yung forever kong dadalhin. Alam mo sobra akong masaya tlaga and so honored na nabigyan ako ng chance na na makasama si Ms. Lea Salonga. At first intimidated ako. Di nawawala yon pero Ms. Lea is so kind and talagang frank lang talaga sya. Very down to Earth. Masarap sa pakiramdam kapag nakikita ko sya. And eveytime I see her perform, grabe. One time nagrerehearse sya, naiyak talaga ako. Sobrang galing.
When I think I’m done with my questions with Sarah, (I saw families and friends waiting for the meet and greet) I said “thats it!” And she say Thank you!
Special Thanks to Jollibee for sending me there to cover Sarah G again.
