3 Wonderful Decades of McDonald’s Philippines!

I didn’t know that Mc Donalds is only just few years older than me. Yes, McDonald’s celebrates 30 years of magic in the Philippines yesterday September 30. Thanks to McDonald I was informed and entertained form my visit at their newly renovated Makati Cinema Square. Trust me its reaaaally beautiful. Perfect for a very busy corporate guy like me. The ambiance is so hip and fit for young adults. And simultaneously they are celebrating it with its first ever, simultaneous 4-store re-opening!

Why I kept tweeting their Anniversary? I think McDonalds has become part of my lifestyle in a way. From 24/7 stores to their WIFI to everything. I guess McDonalds is one of the great, if not most successful food chain in the country.

There are 5 things I love about McDonalds:

  1. WIFI
  2. Very Sulit McSaver’s Meal. (I can order fillet and rice and cheeseburger for take for less than 100 bucks!)
  3. Sundae!
  4. Happy Meal collectibles. Mostly their toys are those of my favourite movie stuff!
  5. Fries, better than Jamidee!

The four stores that will open at the same Anniversary dates are McDonald’s Makati Cinema Square, Greenhills, North Avenue, and Quezon Avenue will once again open its doors to customers, now bearing new modern designs setting the tone for the next 30, 60, 90 years of McDonald’s in the country. Each of the 4 McDonald’s anniversary stores will give eager customers more reasons to say “love ko ‘to” with stylish furniture, colorful interiors, and dynamic graphics that perfectly suit the tastes and style of the modern Pinoy.

I learned a lot from a very short discussion with a Happy Marketing Manager talking about the store’s history. McDonald’s officially brought in the Philippines in 1981 by Geoger T. Yang as the franchiser of Mcdo in the country. The first store was in Morayta, Manila while outside Metro Manila the first set of stores include Dau (Luzon), Cebu (Visayas) and Cagayan de Oro (Mindanao).  The Greenhills branch which is also one of the anniversary stores was the first McDo branch in the country that has drive thru. Now McDo already reaches more than 300 stores nationwide that has 24 hour dining and delivery service, online and mobile application delivery, and in-house coffee shop (McCafe).

And to amp up the celebration today , McDonald’s gave away freebies, limited edition 30th Anniversary premium items with live performances from the UP Pep Squad (Makati Cinema Square) and FEU Cheering Squad (Quezon Avenue) to bring customers right at the heart of the festivities.

So visit McDonald’s anniversary stores on starting todayand join the celebration of three decades of great-tasting food, excellent service, and, now, a whole new kind of dining experience only at McDonald’s!

HAPPY 30th ANNIVERSARY MCDONALDS!!!
