(MOVIE) “Hopeless Romantic” is one of Star-Viva’s lowest Opening Box Office

Star Cinema successfully ran its Toni and Coco Martin movie with a whooping 210 MILLION plus in the Box Office of 2015. Not to mention the commercial rerun of CinemaOne Originals’ That Thing Called Tadhana who also made it to the 100 Million mark despite leaks of DVD copy online. Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s Crazy Beautiful You is 2015’s highest grossing film so far.

The first day gross is out! Para Sa Hopeless Romantic, a movie adaptation starring James Reid and Nadine Lustre, with Julia Barretto and Inigo Pascual earned 8 Million pesos on its opening day. This is one of the lowest Star Cinema and Viva Box Office movie receipts to date. However, with so many positive reviews online that are circulating, many are predicting that it will recover this payday weekend.

As of this time, Star Cinema is yet to release its first 5-day gross, and/or its weekend box office. Still waiting for producers to confirm the total gross as of last night.

A ClickTheCity user rated Hopeless Romantic 1.5/5 stars.”The actors specially the lead one lacks emotion. Overall watching the movie is like watching a high school play.”

The Diary Ng Panget is the most successful movie of James and Nadine. I remember my kilig moments at the Cinema and saw James in a whole new packaging from teeny weeny to a hunk leading man of his generation. diary Ng Panget was directed by Andoy Ranay and earned a whooping 15 Million on its first day of showing. This movie surpassed 100 Million marked last April 2014.

Talk Back and You’re Dead earned 30 Million on its first 3 days of showing nationwide. At the end of the screening, its total gross amounted to more than 76 Million.

James Reid and Nadine Lustre are preparing for the grand primetime entrance with “On The Wings Of Love” soon on ABSCBN.

Whats next movie for James? James Reid is set to do a romantic comedy movie with Alex Gonzaga & Luis Manzano.

  1. The real question is, normal ba yun film outfit mismo nagrerelease ng movie gross??? Ang dali lng magsabi na 250 million kinita ng movie, if you’re a profile-oriented org, it’s a way to boost promotions & marketing din di ba, pag malaki declared kita sa 1st day, ma-cucurious yun iba para manuod. Or pede din pag favorite ka ng Mgmt pede ka lagyan ng padding, or kun naiinis sila sa inyo, pede ka nila bawasan ng kita. Like JaDine is not homegrown, but from another talent agency. Dapat kasi 3rd party or MTRCB nag-aannounce nyang ticket sales, eh parang binigyan mu lng din ng kapangyarihan sila maging monster if they control everything, really this is just like a monopolies haven, if you’re a syndicate or Mafia, Philippines is your promise land. Also, dapat ticket sales ang basis, hindi pede yun blockscreenings w/ sponsors, an empty seat will remain an empty seat. How many actual people (bawal dummy or mannequins) really came to watch your movie, that’s how you measure real popularity.

  2. Sino nag-eedit nun Wiki pointing to this source pero mali-mali nakalagay dun??? Baka kagagawan n nman ng ABiasCBN. Sabi dito 8 million on Opening day, bakit dun 1 million on opening day. Hay naku, dami gusto pabagsakin ang JaDine. Sila na kasi ang “The Hottest” and most talented loveteam of this generation! May potential pa makalabas sa ibang bansa, World class talents, real Filipino pride, hindi katulad nun mga basura talents ng ABS. tsk, tsk!
